Money, oh money,
A blessing and a curse,
A coin with two faces, friend and foe,
Poverty knocks at the door—
Don’t answer, it’s ego’s lure

When you don’t have it,
You crave it, deep within the soul,
Grasping, it slips like sandcastles’ fall,
When you hold it,
You hunger to fill the void,
A chasm carved eons ago

The riches that blind, an impostor,
Greed smiles and lurks in dark corners,
Stalking like a predator,
With wealth you are invincible,
Till reality cracks your core,
And you ask, what went wrong

To lose the energy you worked for,
Swept away in a hazy storm,
As fast as it came, so it was gone,
You stand, staring at the door,
Waiting for a sign, a song,
To build again, stronger than before

Yet heed this truth to prevail:
Without it, find peace in your soul.
With it, don’t chase endless more.
Be content with what you hold,
For wealth may not endure.

Wait for signs and songs,
Soon they come, swift and sure,
Sturdier, better than before,
Money, my dear old foe,
Make peace within your soul
