I ran, I walked, I crawled
In an attempt to escape the inevitable fall
To release myself from this dreadful hold
To flee from the torture of it all
But the farther I ran, the closer you stood
I sank in defeat, I had done all that I could

I wriggled, I tossed, I turned
From your uncomfortable warmth
Your touch gifted - it burned
I screamed, I cried & finally I was silenced
Into the arms of another
That held a familiar imminence
