He notices the light grazing
the marsh grass fronds.
Horizon light, raking light,
A feathery halo floating
above the diamond tide.
He takes photos while I watch.

He notices the light spotting
the carved Ionic portico.
Searching light, sculpting light.
Strokes of shadow halo
the fluted marble shafts.
He takes photos while I wait.

I notice the light peering through
the window where he reads.
Revealing light, seductive light.
A feathery halo floating
above his bare leg.
I take photos while he scrolls.
