There it lays- in millions of shattered pieces
My heart, destroyed and scattered on the floor
The remnants of the tears that now stain the pillow
All because it was her- it was never going to be me, was it?
You say the sweetest things
Play with my hair
But it will never be me, will it?
No matter how hard I try
And try
And try
It'll never be me
Go on
Go pick her like you always do
Don't worry about me
I'll be fine
My heart can weather this pain once more
But don't worry darling, you've only shattered it once before
I'll always be by your heart and you'll be by mine
Even when it's you who shattered my heart
This is based off of how I feel and how others feel when they love someone who they can't have. For me, it's my best friend. And when I wrote this, it brought me to tears to  re-read it. This is a story about loving someone who always chooses someone else, but no matter what, it'll always be him/her. I hope that you enjoy this as much as I did. And remember, there IS someone out there made for you and that will love you for you.

Love, Maddie
