Darkness prevails
All too soon
It’s ritual stir
Beneath the moon

And as l walk
Across the bridge
The far off city
Starts to live

The city is a energy
That suffices my soul
The lights and traffic
Soon take control

And when the night
Does start to close
I drift on back
To my lonely home

And l lay on back
In the evening cool
And my mind
Does dwell on you
