You fell first, I fell harder,
In your arms, I swore forever.
You spoke of love like a promise kept,
I swore I'd stay, no matter what was left.

We whispered dreams in the quiet night,
Held each other in borrowed time.
But I blinked, and the days ran fast,
I never saw that love won’t last.

"Date to marry," you used to say,
I held your words like light in gray.
"I'll never tire," I swore to you,
But now you're gone, and it's still true.

Did I waste the days we had?
Did I lose you to my own hands?
Now you're moving, light and free,
While I’m drowning in memories.

But every night, you're still right here,
A ghost that whispers in my ear.
Not flesh, not bone, but still you stay,
In every dream that won’t decay.

Your laughter lingers in the dark,
Your voice still sparks a dying spark.
I close my eyes, but there you are,
A phantom love, a haunting scar.

You're somewhere new, you're someone’s peace,
And I'm still stuck in what we missed.
You fell first, I fell apart—
And now I'm left with my own heart.
Based on true story.
