Time runs by like water in a river,
It’s always calm but it also rushes
off and on, sometimes quite like song thrushes
it makes you aware, making you quiver
and when it finally clicks, you realize,
realize that then you have no more time
it shakes you awake from your dreamtime.
the world will keep spinning by, always wise,
but then you will feel stuck in place confused,
maybe you’re just like me, maybe afraid.
that the world may move on, leaving you strayed.
then time finally comes, awaken from your snooze,
henceforth you’ll be left stranded in quick pace,
and the world will bury you without a trace.
About my fear of growing up and being lost in the world, becoming nothing despite my better efforts.
