The Odds Were Stacked Against Him
the odds were stacked against him
nothing went as it should
the suit of cards just weren't for him
they weren't much good
his darling deserted him
she left him to be with another guy
she lost that loving feeling for him
leaving him without a dry eye
he sat all alone recalling
how dear she was to him
all those loving memories
flooding on back to him
his life was never going
to be the same
the cards he was dealt
bought closure to their love game
no trump card did he receive
she lost that loving feeling
leaving him to grieve
