Apr 2022
as a candle in the rain
and the smoky vapor hung
leaving shards of purple pain

Your light blew out
as a broken bulb
flickering
a fish out of water
thrashing about
till it wears itself out

Your light blew out
and darkness crept in
a shadow on the wall
flat as a silhouette
breaking out in a frothy sweat
