Mar 2022
as autumn leaves
breaking off from the trees
snared in a breeze
carried in a billowing wind
not to attach again

You pulled away
as light from the day
when storm clouds turn to grey
dusk hovering like a hummingbird
and all my dreams deferred

You pulled away
as a crusty scab on a scar
shrinking my life
as a smoked cigar
all turned to flaking ash
scattered in a blinding flash
