It's interesting how the understanding of a single word
can shift an entire perspective:

Take "Sybaritism", for instance;
the pursuit of excessive gratification of One's desires;

The very concept of Sin
seems to be a defense mechanism
against the follies of, as well as tendencies towards,
Sybaritism:

Once One realizes
that a concept exists
it becomes somewhat of a plague
until One can come to terms with it.
