bystander
as I watched white thin branches -
limbs of her creeping flesh
crawling to nowhere and
always reaching nothing
in the world full of ash
only faintly touching the infinite asphalt
in a fading motion
desiring petty dim of emotion
but I am a bystander
to apathy fully surrendered
I need to be someone else
to put your limbs at place
and soul at peace
