I wake up every morning
To the sound of gunshots and mourning
People running and clamouring
Just leaves me wondering
What is the essence of it all?
Are we nothing but pawns in this man-made war
Have we become so heartless that our brothers we ****
The blood of our brethren the land drinks till its fill
What we need now is someone who can save
Someone who'll bring us the redemption for which we crave
But for now we have to wait
Passing through the fire is but a test of our faith
So while the sun shines we must make haste
We are the salt of the earth and so we must give it taste
