Mary loved Freddie,
No doubt
Although she eventually
Opted out
Of their long-termed
Alliance
With a note of
Defiance

Cuz Freddie had changed,
Don’t cha see
So their marriage
Wasn’t meant to be
Cuz he preferred
To be free
To pursue
His other destiny

Though Mary knew him
Very well
And for a while
Was under his spell
Even she
Found it hard to tell
That he liked men
Just as well

But she was
His friend ‘til the end
Despite the mixed signals
He’d send
When he could
No longer pretend
That he was nearing
His end
