Loneliness is so lonely
When it hangs with me
I've often thought if only
I could set it free

Would it fly off without hesitation
Or flutter about haphazardly
Might it stumble across that someone
Lonely just like me

Then if that special someone
Comes and lights a spark
Which lightens up the dark
Perhaps we both together
Could see loneliness leave our hearts
