You cry out for help
But no one hears you
You haven’t a friend to care for you
The bottle is the only thing near you

You ask for assistance
But are met with resistance
because of the sky-rocketing cost
You can’t take that kind of loss
So, no one helps you
The bottle is the only thing near you

You say over and again
You’re going to stop
The days come and go
You can’t give up the only relief you know
It’s become dear to you
The bottle is the only thing near you

You’ve grown to depend
on this bottle as your friend
You look forward to its company
It takes you out of your misery
If only for a little while
It masks the emptiness and loneliness
and hole inside your heart
How could you come to part
with something that means so much
I really fear for you
The bottle is the only thing near you
