You changed yourself into something -
I don’t recognize
You hide behind your defenses with lies
They help you gloss over yesterday

But I have changed, despite myself too
Into something I’m not sure of
Because of you

I don’t like what I see
And I grieve the old me
Before you came along

Innocence is gone
And I can never get that back again
But I can develop self-confidence

All things must come to an end

Time to let go of the old -
The old me, the old you
The only way that we knew

forest paths of change
