Don’t know who you are
One moment from the next
And to be honest
You keep me perplexed
See I never know
Under what pretext
You’ll make me happy
Or just get me vexed

I don’t know if you heard
A word that I said
But you’ve got me going
Out of my head
Sometimes I think
I’d be better off dead
Though suicidal thoughts
Are what I truly dread

Throughout our history
You’ve always been
A total mystery
Especially when
You keep me confused
Time and time again
With the cross messages
That you tend to send

So there you are
What can I say
You know that I love you
Anyway
See hope springs eternal
At least I can pray
That tomorrow will bring about
A better day
