Homeward
Calligraphic patterns imprint the sky.
Trees write their names on the wind.
Desert cacti bloom like flowers in a lawn.
Reds and blues spill onto tawny dunes.
I walk at angles to the rising sun.
Scorpions scurry along my way home.
