I wonder, when reading a powerful poem
if writer could imagine how true to my life
it is for me.

Wonder, if poet senses my excitement
where their words are like gold enhancing my day.

Wonder, if they understand their words hold power
and cloak my empty night.

Wonder, if it is the fuel that keeps
them sane and me longing.
