Confusing for a young child at Thanksgiving
was watching the surreal farce that is March
of the Wooden Soldiers [or 'Babes in Toyland'],
& then see the Rockettes portray those same
soldiers in their annual Christmas Spectacular
at Radio City. I'm thinking, how can I get
a mindless army of articulated female soldiers?
Something about the Rat King, originally
meant to be a depiction of Satan; the soldiers
possessed by the spirits of fallen angels, as in
a house divided against itself that cannot stand...
