THIS NEW YEAR

On the eve of this coming New Year,
for all tragic events, shed let us, a tear;
then, try we must to over come our fear
n to repeat our mistakes not, draw a line clear.

Welcome the New Year let us, with enthusiasm n cheer
clinking our crystal glasses filled with wine or beer.
Eat, drink, dance and merry be; getting into top gear.
wish I, a Happy New Year to each n everyone of you, dear.  

This New Year, let us decide one thing, right here;
spread we must happiness, good-will and joy sheer.
Love n respect let us people; and at them never jeer.
Happy New Year to my elders, “smallies” n my peer(s).
