Death took you like early spring.
Snow on the ground was melting.
You left me, guilty with desire.

I came along after the rain.
I knew hurt. I knew pain.
We suffered the same.
Both our wounds were open.

I gave my all.
You gave your best.
Our love was put through every test,
love that never should have been,
love that had a tragic end.

Death took you like early spring.
Snow on the ground was melting.
You left me, guilty with desire.

I made you pay the price,
for loving me, not once, but twice.
You were not supposed to.
That is what they told you.

Fate played us a very cruel hand.
Despite the warnings, we still began.
I needed you as my lover,
though I had another.

Death took you like early spring.
Snow on the ground was melting.
You left me, guilty with desire.
