i have a winter coat
that i often wear
when the cold breeze blows
telling me you'll soon be here

where you can't help but chill
whatever room you're in
with the hanging of icicles
starting conversations off with

it's best to bundle tight
in frostbitten fear
wearing winter coats
whenever you draw near

with the coldest of cold shoulders
you bring to light a freeze
that makes one want to order
up an early spring

in a bank of snow linden cold
you drift in alone
that is when i've come know
to wear a winter coat
