We spoke with our entangled manners about the star spangled banner.
Some people could understand us but others said we had mangled candor.
It was more than a flag, it symbolized all of the people who died to be free
But they were silent when we pointed out they don’t stand when its on T.V
I never understood how we could burn the flag but not go down on one knee.
They say to protest non-violently, but I guess some forms of outcry is off-limits I see.
Because I might not agree with what you say, but you still have a right to express.
It’s hard to remain silent when the problems in this country makes one restless.
Because those who have the hardest insight, are the ones who can call darkness night.
But we have to finish having the dream  before we can awake to the light.
