Oh, that smart mouth kid.
With his slightest of comments.
Makes you question's his manner.

They just shoot off quick.
Without a moment of thought.
Without realizing the consequences.
Of being a smart mouth.

You reply back.
With watch your tone.
Because your siblings just might be alone.

You repeat that ol' phase.
I bought you in this world.
And I'll take you out.
Except the smart mouth kid.
Still wanted to pout.

Is this what being a parent about?

Then you go through another phase.
As long as you're living in my house.
You'll obey my rules.
Then, they still wants to question you.

Sometimes you wonder.
If the message gotten through to the smart mouth.

Then you realize.
That you might have been that way too.
