I’ll be here
When the seasons and the snow and the holidays say I should arrive.
Because when it is the time of lights and reindeer and birth scenes
Is the time I should announce my presence.
And come to where you reside
Bearing gifts after a long journey.
Then we can take a sip of the eggnog
And another one of cider
We can sit around and sing Christmas carols
And not know half the words
It is ok, because we are the only ones to hear
Then look outside and see a white Christmas
The snow coming to rest after a long journey
Just as we have come from all that we were.
Both physical and spiritual locations
And just like that we have to say goodbye
We should do this again
But we know the next date is the next time
The Earth makes its yearly run around the Sun.
That is a day we can look forward to.
As our tradition
