you may relate
to the sun rising or the moon's glow
you may say you care
about theΒ Β poor in Africa the starving

and you may care about ethics
and morals and all about life in general
as much as your day to day
schedule allows

yet, this world is ****** up
it is not your responsibility
or duty to fix things
especially those of a world kind

this world is unfair
and it takes my breath away
how beautiful the mountain peaks are
the rivers in a valley

the shores on the ocean
a bird in the air
the length of a prairie horizon
a child's smile

but there in that
I try not to see, but do
those who are starving
the hunger

the lion killing a
young buffalo
I seek the balance
of nature

and humanity
fear the next
****
the latest catastrophe

the next drought
and wonder
if I was
if there is

a God how can all that be
