Here and Now
IF life is going to **** us
Then let it, I mean
You left me long ago
Before your body grew, less trusting, yet
Reacting to my touch
And an answer
Too simple to be right
Life and what it meant to be alive,
We fought so hardβ¦
Or so we thought.
Life lead us to the cliff
The edge and the mist
oblivious to the meaning
meant and forced around our neck
death the great and simple end
and then it bends again,
what do you mean the ride?
You mean the past 24
And the mess re-lived day to day,
The fair day goose, and all the love we set loose
So free⦠So much space
To breathe, I take it in, and choke
And then I believe this
Is getting way too serious
Too meaningful to me
As if faith was your name
And I forgot how to pray
But I know your name
And it just slips out now and then
Then that slip, spills
Everywhere within
Until there is nothing left
But the myth I call home
And my heart
The open cage
The flame that fell apart
