Numbness
Numbing your mind
Is a temporary resolve
For a nagging conscience
When you know
It's not your composition
But a sad love song
In a minor-key
Dramatized music
That floods the soul
Until the walls break
And dry tears turn
Into a flash flood
Exasperating the ache
Exposing the wound
Ripping it open
Numbness resolved
Love evolved
But in the end....
Meaningless, if not returned
