Tonight the sky and sea are one.
Both dark and endless
the aegean sea swells
beyond the small
overcrowded craft.
Behind us terror and injustice
beyond us the unknown
world of the West.
The full moon shines it's light
I see the face of God on it.
in the waters of the swollen sea
I see the faces of my children
and the smile of my wife.
Closing my eyes in reverence
I pray to a God I only half believe
inΒ Β for forgiveness
A god that knows my frailty
and in my desperation
I ask him to vent his wrath
upon me.
And to spare the innocence
of my wife and children.
