For those of us
Keeping score
We’ve heard their arguments
Before
But can we continue
To ignore
We’re in a constant
A state of war

Guns don’t **** people
Yeah (it’s true)
But those with guns
Often do
What will it take
To get through
To those of us
Who have no clue

No matter what
Is done or said
Those killed by guns
Are no less dead
It’s time we start
Looking ahead
And try to put
This thing to bed

We can argue
Amendment rights
And wind up in
The same old fights
That makes us stay awake
At nights
Or change the things
That it spotlights
