Sometimes I wish I were a mermaid
so I can swim far away
I’d swim all the way to the north pole
and sing every step of the way
I’d want to be an ice mermaid
so I can survive in ice water
to be cold and blue all of the time
would be absolutely wonderful
my hair would be Emerald
with starfish for hair clips
my lips would be crystals and so would my fin
I’d sit on blocks of ice in the day
then sleep at night in the snow
and if I swim in the dark
my fin would shine and glow
my neighbors would be penguins
my friend would be a shark
I’d live inside a coral reef
shaped like a heart
my pet would be a sea lion
who can sing Christmas carols
I’d laugh and treat everyday like Christmas
as I play in snowy showers
