Boy
there’s always that one boy
something special always sticks
your pretty blue eyes
glistening swimming pools on a summers day
so vibrant like crossing signs
warning me to cross the street
loving you through oncoming traffic
no wonder I ended up with ****** knuckles
every time I touched your face
a jawline so sharp it cute like blades
through my slow beating heart
I forgot to mention the baggage
suitcases every size filled so deep
no wonder you said it was a vacation
july stars never disappeared so quickly
while fireworks dance across pools
you couldn’t resist coming home
as I struggled to find a pillow
comfort in the way you left
so I stand over the water
and jump
