At a certain time of day
She will turn on the news
In the afternoon

Why did she never work
Or contribute to society?

Content to sit in a home
For thirty years

Her mother was this way
Why won't she change

We only live once
The time given to us is sufficient
It must not be wasted!

It's a tragedy
Now the pattern of her life
Becomes habitual

She was not made for this
