Blue Sapphire
When my eyes met yours,
my heart felt a unique feeling.

Is this the feeling
that the world calls love?
English translation of my  Hindi poem – एक अहसास

Blue Sapphire
Love is not a poem
written on paper
that someone can tear
and throw away.

It is a spark that
once it touches
the heart,

it keeps burning
in the heart
for the entire lifetime.

Sometimes it appears
on the lips
as a smile

and

sometimes it appears
from the eyes
as tears.
English translation of my Hindi poem – चाहत
with a different title.

Soulless
You're here, but you're not
Your back to me
A cold spot where you used to sit

You're here, but you're not
A smile on those lips
The ones I used to kiss

You're here, but you're not
Our friends, now just yours
They chose you over me

You're here, but you're not
I speak, but my voice
No longer matters to you

You're here, but you're not
The eyes that were full of love
Now, only hold hate when you behold me

You're here, but you're not
And I'm still standing here
While you're gone

You're in my room
Even when you sit in yours
I sleep in your clothes

You're in my shirt
The one I gave to you
When you were here

You're here, but you're not
Your earrings on my ears
You told me to keep them

To me, you're always right here
But in reality, you are not
Because you're here in my thoughts
My friend wrote a poem about her ex so I thought I would too

Old song, new seat,
up another gauge.

Open palm, right cheek,
the same rage.

Undereyes are ultravi-
briny lies or
welts of shame
gnawing from the inside.

Catch her in the alley
sparking up at night.
Mulling over what she said,
can never keep it light.

Five years, no change,
some new phase.

A new place, the same pain,
the same waste.

We court our own defeat.
Aqua Regia in our cups
Hubris curled up at our feet.
The throne is a fickle thing,
Jesters are sequestered
By whims of alabaster
Rose crowned Queens.

The King is an utter fool,
Barons are not your friend.
The Joker always finds
The dungeon in the end.
Oubliettes of our own design,
Gossamer wrought chains
Webs spun within our minds.
I’m so tired of loving you.
Of holding a space
you can never fill.

Your absence
is all-consuming,
constant.
It presses.
It stings in stillness.

I close my eyes,
and your face
is still waiting for me there.

I don’t want to forget you.
I just want the remembering
to stop tearing me apart.

If there’s a way
to stop loving you
without falling apart,
please-
show me how.
I’m too tired to keep trying,
and too full of you
to stop.
An honest plea to be able to let go…

I sit and see the awning of leaves out there
And light through  leaves dances like crystals too
A dance of light and dark in  woods  isn’t rare
I wish I could go to the green woods too
My chain and ball sitting  in my wheelchair
A canopy of leafy green I declare
I’m barred from the green ,can’t move on my own
And cut off from life and stuck in the waif zone
