Snip
The cord was cut
I held you in one hand
Then a stimulator
Called an incubator

Right now
I'm holding on to you
For dear life

Bike riding
Through the twist and turns
We're hiding

You take risks
I would never do
But I have faith
We'll get through

Then I'm into the moment where
There's no moments
Zen
Was going to have this as one point
You take risks
I would never do
But I have faith
Wheel get through.
But was just to corny

Make sure the fit
Is not too tight,
Or you may forget
It's there in the night,
Blurring wrong and right.

Remove the mask,
Let your soul be bare.
No need to ask—
Just show you care.

Hold someone close,
Feel their beating heart.
Life's truest moments
Need no guise or art.

The Inadequacy of Words
Nick Moore Apr 18
The wonder of
A bird’s nest,
Their songs, so beautiful,
Put the mind to the test.
How do they know?

"Oh, instinct."

The mystery
Of electricity,
What is it, truly?

"Well, it’s just... electricity."

Have you caught
A stranger's gaze,
Felt a friend’s name rise,
Only for them to call?
Yes! And?

"Coincidence."

Have you noticed –
No matter who’s in power,
The rich grow richer,
While the poor
Sink deeper?

"Are you a conspiracy theorist?"

All matter
Is merely energy condensed
To a slow vibration,
That we are all
One god consciousness
Experiencing itself subjectively,
There is no such thing as death

"Hippy ****"

And so we circle –
Words falling short,
Walls unbroken.
"All matter is merely energy condensed" is borrowed from a Bill Hicks show.

From within our heated homes,
Food and water nourishing bones,
Time is spent, thinking of a future event.
But,
The birds sing, despite the monster with the Claws, that constantly Persists in it's downfall.

Returning to My hometown,
I wander into the museum,
It's been a long, long time.

Stuffed animals in glass tanks,
Exactly as I remember them,
Trapped in time,
I've changed, but they haven't.

A school visit comes to mind,
We all Stood and stared
At Nelson the lion,
Now I stand alone,
Looking once again.
Nelson is a firm favourite with visitors of all ages. Originally from the South Cape in South Africa, Nelson is thought to have been a model for the lion sculptures in London’s Trafalgar square.

There's a new craze
Down on the beech
People are having a blast
Looking for sea glass

Colours brown green and blue
Plus the clear one
You can see straight through

Now glass when broken is sharp
As you know
But the rumble and tumble
Of The ocean
And the smallest grains
Like the wings of a moth
Smoothes the edges right off

Taken from nature
Manipulated by man
Returning unwanted
Weatherd and torn
Something quite unique

So when treading the boards
step softly

give the best performance
From you're soul,
Lift others from their holes,
Put a smile on their face
If things don't work out
Try changing roles

Make it the best play ever written
Try for a good ending
maybe leave someone smitten

When the curtain comes down
And
It's just you on you're own,
there should be no frown
go to you're backstage bedroom
Sleep tight
Under the full moon,
Awake
As the birds sing,

When Robert Sings
Nick Moore Dec 2024
Nostalgia’s not for me,
The present
is where I long to be.
But when Robert sings,
the past takes wing,
And memories bloom
Like lipstick
they cling.

A tear may gather,
though boys don't cry,
His voice, just like a dream,
drifts through the sky.

Each note,
a thread, weaving time and space,
Binding my heart
to a fleeting embrace.
Song, Love Cat's by The Cure.

Discovery
Of The
Garden,
Where we merrily played,
For a time.

Ignoring the voice
(We could be so bold)
Calling us back,
Into the fold.

The game's continued,
For a while,
But the fun it held,
Started to decline.

The garden
Became the only place,
Nowhere else existed,
An illusion was born,
The individual.

The individual
Sat alone, and very soon,
Sadness came to join.

Sadness grew and grew,
Until the thought was born,
Time to return to the place,
We once called
Home.

Always wanting to know

What made it so?
A need to know

The deeper I'd go,

Their favourite book,
Hungry eyes,
Take a
Look

Music was always
The one,
"What's you're favourite album?"
Lyrics
Told a story,
But interpretation would
Fragment,
The message sent

The bigger
The age gap,
Better the story,
Making me wish
To be older,
Experience those days

Living antiques
To show,
Pocket watches
That
Wind up
With a
Key,
Lockets with loved ones
Enclosed,
Rings that changed colour!
The tick and tick,
Of The
Grandfather clock,
Like a Living man
Stood in the
Hall,
Showing
Moon and sun,
What power,
Chiming on the
Hour

The unfriendly
A challenge,
But still...
Get
Under the crust,
Persistence a
Must,
More often than
Not,
Gold in the ***

Wisdom from
The wise,
A rewarding
Prize

To the
Timid and afraid,
Please be
Brave,
Open up those
Hidden gates,
Always someone
Who

Song for this, my grandfather's clock.
My grandfather's clock was too large for the shelf,
So it stood ninety years on the floor;
It was taller by half than the old man himself,
Though it weighed not a pennyweight more.
It was bought on the morn of the day that he was born,
And was always his treasure and pride;
But it stopp'd short — never to go again —
When the old man died.

Ninety years without slumbering
(tick, tick, tick, tick),
His life seconds numbering,
(tick, tick, tick, tick),
It stopp'd short — never to go again —
When the old man died.
In watching its pendulum swing to and fro,
Many hours had he spent while a boy.
And in childhood and manhood the clock seemed to know
And to share both his grief and his joy.
For it struck twenty-four when he entered at the door,
With a blooming and beautiful bride;
But it stopp'd short — never to go again —
When the old man died.

Ninety years without slumbering
(tick, tick, tick, tick),
His life seconds numbering,
(tick, tick, tick, tick),
It stopp'd short — never to go again —
When the old man died.
My grandfather said that of those he could hire,
Not a servant so faithful he found;
For it wasted no time, and had but one desire —
At the close of each week to be wound.
And it kept in its place — not a frown upon its face,
And its hands never hung by its side.
But it stopp'd short — never to go again —
When the old man died.

Ninety years without slumbering
(tick, tick, tick, tick),
His life seconds numbering,
(tick, tick, tick, tick),
It stopp'd short — never to go again —
When the old man died.
It rang an alarm in the dead of the night —
An alarm that for years had been dumb;
And we knew that his spirit was pluming for flight —
That his hour of departure had come.
Still the clock kept the time, with a soft and muffled chime,
As we silently stood by his side;
But it stopp'd short — never to go again —
When the old man died.

Ninety years without slumbering
(tick, tick, tick, tick),
His life seconds numbering,
(tick, tick, tick, tick),
It stopp'd short — never to go again —
When the old man died.

Here he comes wearing bright colours
That say,
I'm getting in you're way

He doesn't take rejection easy
Try wafting away
In you're face
Instantly
Persistently

Gets his kicks this way
Try to make my excuses
Conversation brings
Subtle threat
Of a sting

At the speed of a
Golden eagle,
He'll hit you with
A needle

Compound eyes
Only see one view
Any other is
Out of view

To my relief
He sees something sweet,
Feet
Faster than wings
Off he buzzed.

The name has been used in Ireland since the 16th century. It may have become more popular after appearing in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Rosaleen is also a poetic symbol of Ireland.
An old one, now we have access to the old stuff, this seems to fit for these times.

Cold lips,

Pulled by the call,

Dragged his feet
Across cemetery ground

Driven by loneliness,
Now feeling regret,

So if out late

And the
Hairs on you're neck
Start to
Bristle,
Could it be the

Triple fantasy
Nick Moore Mar 29
A visit to my teacher's house,
While he's talking,
I wounder where the ducks go in winter.

Been expelled,
Better go to the dormitory,
A rage of jealously,
I attack my room mate,
****** nose, hunting hat
Back to front,
I head for New York.

Booking into a hotel,
I dance with three girls,
Pay for their drinks
And off they go,
The elevator guy,
Offers me a girl, I agree,
she knocked at my door!
But I'm a ******, you see,
So we just talk.

I decided to go home, to see my sister, don't want to see my parents, so
I silently enter, go to her room,
She's sleeping so I wake her,
"Why are you home?"
I tell my tale,
"Dad will go crazy!"
Kids tell it straight,
I tell her to meet me later, at the
Museum, off I go, without a sound.

Waiting for my sister,
Watching how people act,
What happens when we grow up?
Most are phonies to me.
I see my sister, so carefree and real,
Do you want to ride the
carousel?
She's so happy, as we arrive,
Picking her favourite horse,
Time to take a ride.

So I'm just busy here watching the wheels
Go round and round,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I'd had some dark thoughts
About what to do next,
But this song came into my mind,
And I just had to let it go,
I'll take my sister home,
Tell mum and dad,
Start a new school
Life ain't to bad.

Oh no
There won't have been any pain
The words of comfort try too explain

Tell you what
A nice little box I've got

We can put Tommy inside
A hole in the garden
Under earth he can hide

I'll make up a song to sing

Poor tortoise dead and gone
Left me here to sing his song

Pretty little tortoise with a shell stuck on
Poor tortoise dead and gone

I've just checked on Tommy
Good news

Not dead but sleeping
I explain

The funeral cancelled

I'm met with disappointment
Then these words do I hear

"Shall we **** him?"
Stolen song from the Doors.
Based on a true story my mother used to tell, when she worked in a children's home.

Food for thought
Forget the
Baguette,
Slumber, in the arms of a
Cucumber.
Never doubt the
Sprout.
Don't be mean to the bean.
Make drama, when peeling a
Banana.
Use a heron, to squeeze
Your lemon.
Feed a grape, to that ape.
Carve a kiwi into a kiwi.
Stare at at pear.
Pretend a spring onion,
Is a bunion, but! Don't leave it
In your sock.
Do the tango, with a mango.
Make mashed potato,  look like a chateau.
Excite a parrot,
With a carrot.
Is that pea, a she or a he? Whatever! Have tea with that pea, in a teepee.
Make rice mice.
Don't make a scene, with an aubergine.
Take that courgette, to the vet.
Visit the planet, that looks like a pomegranate.
Dye your boot, with beetroot.
Take the lead, when planting your seed.
Drink sherry with a berry.
See, with glasses made of brocoli.
A horse with dapple, loves an apple.
Don't play dumb, with a plum.
