Just an ordinary
Boy,
With an extraordinary
Smile
That is gifted only
To me.
What an ordinary
Life
What extraordinary
Love
The ordinary boy
And me.

Rapunzoll
tonight, something a little
stronger than poison
runs through my veins

it festers, intangible,
pretty like belladonna,
sweet like nightshade

it sways in the wind
of my lungs, it has it's
own tune you see.

i know it's a plague,
like him, we've all
been infected once.

tonight, it's angry,
venomous,
gardens of deep rose

and happiness returns
to being but a distant,
wavering sun.

The voice sings
Of missed trains and lost loves,
Lonely nights and lost lives.
Mellow notes tell a bitter tale,
Familiar,
Too familiar.
I feel the needle scratch
Under my skin.

I take one

Last

Drag

And let it burn away
Until the embers bite my skin.
Drop it in the ashtray,
Already overflowing.
My eyes sting
And I tell myself
The smoke got in my eyes.
The smoke got in my eyes, right?

Emily B
sometimes
i get a glimpse
of words i think i ought to know
from poets i used to read
way back when

i keep running
down dark alleys
chasing shadowy figures
and alluring words

where do the ghosts
of dead poets go
anyway?

Come gently twilight
Dance softly on silken skin
Sweet breathless wonder.
