Rainbows of visions, and I without sight
Stare into the void, an inky goodnight.

Morning
MsAmendable Feb 2016
I wake early in the morning
When light first glances through
It's golden finger gently caressing
The dreamless dream I never knew.

The air is cool upon my cheek
But silky warmth around me stay
Curls, confines, comforts and hides
But sadly I rise for the day

Return
MsAmendable May 2016
I have been gone
For many years, it seems, and yet
The days still flow like rivers
And the light still fills your dreams
..
Where shadows lay, across the way
That I had once forgot
And still the fires alight the pyres
And all the evil to rot
..
I heard the tales the beggars sing
It sounds like home to me,
I have been gone for many years,
Now run, to set us free

Prayer
MsAmendable Mar 31
Let the line between my lips and your flesh become holy ground, so that I may worship upon it
Let me learn to love you
In a hundred little secret ways
Following the touch of your breath on my skin like a dance
Let me pass my hands through the wall of your chest to hold your heart into the light
Let me enter the dark cavern of your body
To shine on your every inner part
And pad the scrape of your bones with meat

Rain
MsAmendable Aug 2023
It rained today,
The first rain in forever.
It smelled nice;
A great wet sigh of relief

I didn't miss it until today-
When the raw thunder rolled over my back
And down my pinkened cheeks
When the crisp grass softened
And mists poured thickly through the rippling trees
That pulls over the sky like white sheets
Tucking us in to the earth; soft and small and damp and sweet

But maybe tonight, the pattering tap
Will pull me so softly
To sleep

Oceans away
MsAmendable Nov 2015
Day by day my demons slide
Into a lake, so deep and wide
But some wouldn't see but a sea at least,
While others see oceans of evil beneath,

The turbulent depths turn, with time and tide
To come and go, and to no man abide;
But inner workings, ticking dear,
Casting them forth, or bringing them near,
All played to the tune of a tone deaf ear,
Which went never hearing my pitiful fear

Dear hands
MsAmendable Jul 2018
Dear hands,
You have created me
As I have created with thee,
Not quite fine,  my dear
It's time,  my dear
to change.

And now,
as sunlight turns to dusk,
Though you've scribed me in the dust
Peerless portrait on the floor,
The iron room has locked it's door
Behind me

My friends,
it's time for me to rest
Though I know you did you best
But the light is growing dim
And you know I cannot swim
In shadow

My art
I had scrawled it in the dark
And now it is torn apart
Not quite fine,  my dear
Divine,  my dear
Goodnight

Love
MsAmendable Apr 30
Deep into the dark and dreamless night I lay
Cradling that which is not half as precious by day

Subtle and sweet on my heart like a balm
As I cradle this hope like an egg in my palms

And should the day rise before the shell breaks
I'll tend to it gently and soothe those old aches

And all through that daylight which burns through the frost
I hold to a promise from the lips of the lost

From morning to evenings, from sunshine to sleep
As day slowly gentles its way to the deep

And back in the dark, alone as I lay
To hold that sweet dream
Till the light of the day

In the bath,
The every rise and fall of your breath becomes the tide
Your heartbeat echoes through mutable water,
Engulfing me in womblike embrace
Small waves lap at my skin and resonate through my flesh
lapping at the shore-
I am water too

I feel your rhythms course and overlap with mine like music
And if I were to bathe in the ocean,
I'd be no less
Only fulfilled with ever more

MsAmendable Dec 2022
You cannot see how much you judge others
When you direct that judgement most harshly
Into yourself

you unwittingly hold others to the same standard
you abuse yourself with
External reflections of your most internal loathings

Nor do you see that the criticism which you raze against your self
You raze against those who admire you

The daughters' mother cannot bear
Her own visage
