Change
Mr E Jan 2013
No matter how long you want to stay the same
It finds you one way or another
Either large or small
It takes you by surprise
The feelings that it brings you
Like gifts wrapped on Christmas day
A mystery that surrounds you and waits for you to find for yourself
It can come like a storm
Unpredictable like rain from a clear sky
But eventually you find yourself living life with it
As if it were always there
And no matter how long you want to stay the same
You live with it and call it friend.

My God
Mr E Jan 2013
"Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teaches my hands to the war, and my fingers to fight.
Be not Thou far from me, O Lord.
My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over"

Simul Pugnandum
Mr E Jan 2013
Will you take my hand?
It is a bearer of many things
Pointing the direction of the people
And providing your sacred wings
Do not sit back and just watch
The toils of poor and mangled folk
Take up arms my fellow friends, for darkness we must choke
As we march unto the light
With our heads and honor high
Earthquakes we will cause
The ringing of the bells into the night
Even if the world does seem
To turn on the last remaining good men
They will not surrender and will fight to the bitter end
Join the rally join the cause
For a purer world to come
Don't sit back and only witness
What you could have always done
If the world joined all hands
In peaceful harmony
The evils of today
Would be but made up fantasy.

S.A.D
Mr E Dec 2012
The trees are bare and naked
As they shiver in the winds biting lashes
The soft chirp of the summer bugs, gone.
The dark comes quicker and the sun hides behind a faraway horizon,
Even the grass finds itself a paler shade of green, the flowers (their inhabitants)
No where to be found.
Clouds rush past my view, running to stay ahead of winters chill
This is surely winter
And I have no appointment being here.

[No Name]
Mr E Dec 2012
As our lives push onward
Trotting forward with the currents of time
The winding paths and curving roads
That everyone around me tends to take
In despair I stay put
Fortified in place where my mistakes have bound me
People pass by and grow
But yet I am frozen
Petrified and unable to advance
For I have no plan
No place to call home
With a touch of jealousy
And some guilt of realization
I stand here
Not knowing what to do with myself
Not knowing why I stand at all.

The Dark Closet
Mr E Dec 2012
When I was young
With timid heart
I feared the monsters in my closet
The things that lurked in the darkness
The beasts that lived in my imagination
But as I have lived
I have grown to learn
That there are far worse things
In the reality of it all
And the safest place in this world
Is in the refuge of that dark closet.

A Friend Once Told Me
Mr E Dec 2012
A friend once told me
Some things are impossible to do
Impossible to reach
Impossible to achieve
No matter how hard someone tried,
They would never meet their goals
And I looked at him
And with a solemn heart
Responded,
Only fools bind themselves
To the realities of this World

Marrying Insanity
Mr E Dec 2012
I find myself twisting turning
thinking of some far off dimension that lies out of reach.
My countenance masks the emotions that swirl through my body and mind, converging into one endless stream.
The world is out to get me, to serve me the cold plate of reality, not even a drink to swallow this dry piece of life.
I want to scream, and rip the hair follicles clean off my scalp, for that pain may wake me up, from this dream I am held in.
This globe of spherical doom, these doldrums that haunt my brightest visions. They are but clouds that block the faintest  rays of hope.
I wish to tell you of my life, anyone who wishes to take a seat, I don't know when my tale will end but I'd get this burden off my heaving chest.
But I wish and want so many things and sit here like the child I am, not knowing what do next, I sit and wait for that person who will sit and listen to what my heart wants to sing.

When You're Down
Mr E Dec 2012
I want you to know
That you are dear to me
Though I know not your name
You are special
You are you
And that is something no one else can achieve,
but you and you alone.

Sandy Hook Shootings
Mr E Dec 2012
Lives cut short
Gone
Lost but never forgot
These times leave a fresh cut
On the arms of humanity
Words could only begin to explain
A tragedy
A villainous crime
Let us find a solution to our problems
And hold one another close till the end of time.

Pity You
Mr E Dec 2012
As you look down on those less prominent than you
As you scoff at their broken hands and soul
As you fall drunk under your own powerful might,
I shall pity you full
As you whisper your hateful remarks,
And eye for your friends for support,
As your lies seep from your venomous mouth
I shall pity in remorse
As you stride forth
And wave your hands high,
To those who think you’re a god
I only wish they could see who you truly are,
And witness the fall of a fraud
I pity you and your habits,
The meek smile you slap on that face
The person you always could have been,
Instead of a man fallen from grace
I hope you realize some day,
The world doesn’t revolve around you
But as you drown yourself in arrogance deep,
I shall always pity you.

I do not cry for the Dead
Mr E Dec 2012
I do not cry for the dead
I keep my thoughts inside my head
They are gone
The worms are fed
The grass grows greener
No tear is shed
The wind still blows
The sun still shows
And I hate myself
And my cursed heart of lead
A heart that does not ever cry
Not even for the dead

Beauties of Another Kind
Mr E Nov 2012
Have we found ourselves back again
In dark times of hatred and back when
We could not recognize a man of color
We dared not consider him another
Now we try to relegate
Those who have a different fate
And punish them for who they love
How they dress or how they talk
Why must we repeat ourselves
And find new victims, so we may delve,
Deeper into our most sinister plots
To put these "heathens" to a stop
History has seen it, time again
Every moment we come around a bend
We hate what is unknown.

Sometimes I Gaze
Mr E Oct 2012
Sometimes I sit
And with deep gaze
I look into myself
And wonder,
To whom will I give the bitter sweet maze
Of my heart
That goes aflutter.

Solemn Serenity
Mr E Oct 2012
This quiet of the night.
A serenade to my soul.
Hushed whispers of the nothing.
Frozen landscapes, and silent halls.

Stillness yet unmatched.
But peace appreciated.
This nothing that I drift through.
The serenade of my soul.

Dream
Mr E Oct 2012
Throw me down,
Down to your feet

Where bugs, dirt, and weeds
Do meet

Torture my soul,
Until I scream

But let you know ,
I will dream

Bind my hands and drag me through
The coals and ember's steam

Lock me in your darkest cell
But I shall always dream

Take my name
And take my world

Take my tears and produce a stream,
Take everything that I posses

But I shall always dream

Spit in my face
Stab my back

Hang me up for the world to see
But no matter what your minds create

I shall always Dream

The Spartan
Mr E Sep 2012
I fought
I fought
I fought my friends.
I fought with all my might.
I fought until the air in my lungs dispersed into the night.
I hacked I slashed and crumpled my foes
And one by one they fell.
With victory near, and victory close
Tonight I dine in hell.

Guilty?
Mr E Sep 2012
Fingers pointed
Outstretched and extended
Imposing itself, on what is intended
Innocence gone, like dust in the wind
Authority waning, dispersed, and thinned
Take them away, where out they'll be thrown
But those without sin may cast the first stone.

Friend
Mr E Sep 2012
Across the world and back again
Through the darkness of the cold outer space
I want you to know that I'm your friend
Beside you, I'll run, in any race.
Sifting the maze of thought and life
I will be there when you cry
Through any pain, or crushing strife
I'll be that shoulder for you to stand by.

Darkness

No one wants to play with me
Children run, hide, and flee
For the more you have
The less you see
Twas the life of poor old me.

Lapis Philosophorum
Mr E Sep 2012
Luminous rock to guide my will
Bloodying the hands of those that want
So greedily does power seep
In to the hands of men
Stone of power and righteous thought
To heal the wounds that mark my taut
Fragile body and weary mind
Are you worthy to be so sought?
Power of kings
And Power of Gods
When men fight men with battles fought
Doth happiness lie in unfathomed might?
I

Truly

Think

Not.

To Whom it may Concern
Mr E Sep 2012
I want to know you better
I want to know what makes you tick
What makes you smile
What makes you mad
What scares you most
What makes you sad
What makes you serious or
Makes you stern
I want to know you better dear,
To whom it may concern

Salem
Mr E Sep 2012
Hushed words whispered, in the dead of night
Causing a stir in that ghostly town
Lies twisted and mangled
Between the limbs of trees surrounding these poor souls
A hunt to find who is right but telling the tale of who is left
Hung on the limbs of the trees that surround these poor souls
Do the innocent find themselves swaying in the breeze.

Bed
Mr E Sep 2012
Bed
Lights dim,
Sky grey, falling back into its peaceful slumber
Quiet house with an orchestra of the night playing outside the window
pane
Cracked ever so slightly the world breathes its final breathes before dipping into steady sleep
Warm shower, accompanied with fresh scents
Warm sheets ruffled around you
Cocooned like a caterpillar before flight
Bed is where I belong.

Talk is Cheap
Mr E Sep 2012
Words that point
Jagged to the touch
Words that slice and belittle
Do they hurt that much?
Words are merely perspectives
Shaped by those who speak
Some to hurt some to help
Don't let them show you're weak
For you posses the words that shape your own heart
and destiny
Don't let them make you cry or ever make you weep
For action costs so much more, when you know that talk is cheap.

I Once...
Mr E Sep 2012
I once had dreams of faraway places
Pedestals of riches and fame
Cliche mansions and women abroad
Knowing the ins and outs of the game
The cars were sublime and I,
Drunk with the light of the lime
Had no worries or any shame
For the world that I ran, was ran by a man
who owned an untouchable name
I once saw myself a god
The commander of the land
Leader of the people
Laws written by my hand
A hero of the world
With roaring trumpets vast
And if I would be the one
I'd surely be the last
But in the end when
A dream is just a dream
You wake yourself and realize
You still paddle realities stream
I once, he once, she once, they once
All had dreams like I
Imagination gets you to the edge
Persistence lets you fly.

Game of Life
Mr E Sep 2012
With different people come different skills,
in the game of life which we all play.
And like a game of chess , each piece,
unique in its own way.

To the smallest pawn to the greatest knight,
each piece reflects who we are inside.
But as one might think a disadvantage is at hand,
that the pawn has not any chance.

With the queen’s strong offense,
and the bishops swift attack,
the pawn’s presence is sadly overlooked.

For many see it as a worthless runt,
only used in the scheme of the king and ignored
until the bitter end.

But in fact the pawn is the most courageous of them all.
The only piece who knows how to charge.
Fearless and brave, it surges forward,
unhesitant and void of fear.
Who won’t retreat when defeat is near.

So who are you? Which one are you?
The decisive knight, the stubborn king,
the blunt rook, the potent queen?
The swift bishop or the valiant pawn?
All of which reflects who we are.

Pale Shade Grey
Mr E Sep 2012
Through the light
of pale shade grey
There will come another day
When men fight men
****** battles afar
and fools search for a brighter star
Ash and soot is second skin
and tears of children wash their face
A day, a day , of a dooming place
When church bells ring to sound alarm
and the shrieks of metal tearing apart
Smoke covered feelings of those victims of war
The houses and families no more.
Anger and hate send bullets ablaze
and fires ravage this place
Kings and Monarchs live in fear
for their machines know what is clear
no feelings nor emotions resound in our creations
Bound to destroy
all the nations.

— The End —
