Labyrinth
 Oct 2016 Moonflower
Ron
Life is a labyrinth
And we are all wandering
Searching for ourselves
I had a dream last night
My mother put me in the pool
There were anchors on my feet
I struggled for air
Because that's what was expected
Eventually I drank
It felt good to be a fish
I don't have to hurt
If nobody wants me to struggle
Depression has me wishing they would give up on me so I could take the easy way out. Coast as a druggie until I'm 21.

Ok, so...

talkative dolphins, computer mice, and you & me
they're all things that click
your smile and stupid honey hair
they're all things that stick
in my memory like clichés and glue
like how I'm stuck on you

feelings and ridiculous bright eyes
they're all things I'm distracted by
also when we laugh so hard we cry
while I'm trying to pocket the sparks that fly
because they're unsuitable
but apparently immutable
just why...
why why why why WHY
why is it you
why does it have to be you

because the sinking feeling has sunk
that even if I was drunk
I wouldn't be able to tell you
the things I try to drown in fried food and old jazz songs
like how I've felt for so long
always trying to ignore it
as I awkwardly store it
wishing we'd explore that
you're the only one
that causes the stuttering and heart fluttering
and the poem's sputtering as the rhyme scheme cracks
while my feelings attack
and so much of me wants you...
and your stupid honey hair
to love me back.
Crushing HARD. Thought it would go away when the person left the city *but* they came back to visit and it's definitely still there. Also my friends are telling me to "go for it" but I really don't know how.
Your moth light is supposed to
sustain me.

I am told to discredit
my sun,

its fuel unnecessary,
yours enough.

What do shadows live on,
this light?

I am the keeper of your
caterpillar dreams.
Featured along with other fine poems in my poetry collection, "Witch", available on Amazon and Lulu.

tamia
of all the lives i could have lived,
i am glad i happen
to be in the same lifetime as yours.

but again here comes the world,
with all its silly ironies—
its vastness that sets people apart
miles and miles;
our paths crossing
is quite out of the picture.

i know this.
you don't.
i think of you.
you don't.

but why do i keep waiting for you
as if i'd suddenly find you outside,
standing by my door
and waiting for me too?
The pain is long gone
But this feeling lingers on
Why do you haunt me?
And though she was blind
Her eyes shined with inner light
And love beyond words
I met a blind woman today and when she looked into my eyes I saw something incredibly profound that I still cannot explain. This haiku is my best attempt to put that feeling into words.
I've seen the people
They have tombstones in their eyes
Dying to get high
