A. P. Aloneness
Mohd Arshad Oct 2018
Peep into your heart
Now it's a dark tunnel
Where none can tread
Or sit for a moment
To calmly engage
In conversation with you
The moss of aloneness
Has thickened on its walls
And it's stinking
You're not lonely
Thousands of things
And thousands of people
Wait to welcome you
And offer their company
To live along with you
For you're special
In your own way
Come out of it
If you feel unable
Think of the flock
In the green fields
And the jolly birds
Flying in proximity
Nothing is alone
In this world
Except for
Your negative thoughts
Which chain your joys.

snowflakes are in free verse,
chill rhymes in a new manner,
and life is a new poem.

A. 22. Valentine Day
Mohd Arshad Feb 2019
Love isn't a gala
Or a much-waited weekend
To celebrate it with fanfare.

It's the merry movements
Of the zippy fish
And the flair-stitched footfalls
Of the sun and the moon
Who set out in all seasons.

Last night, she dispatched
A message on the screen :

Tomorrow we're going to Walia;
It's our first Valentine Day;
I love you.

Quickly, I retorted:

I'm different, so is my love
We'd, as asual, walk in the park
And sing our songs.

Spiritual Life
Mohd Arshad Apr 2014
Spiritual life
Is a shrunk,
Wrinkled
And stumbling
Old man,
Wandering around
In quest for
A permanent
Shelter under
The marvel roof.
Mohd Arshad Apr 2015
If you light upon
On the way to your destination
When winter is at the hieght of bloom
An orphan, a hollowed man or anyone
Offer him a blanket to **** his shivering
And if he burns, in summer, in the heavenly blaze
Open your umbrella over his bubbling head
And don't forget to water his choked throat

Hail to the guests
Kith and kin and all
As a fiancé is done at her home
Or a sibling, aloof for livelihood,
Makes a comeback after swan years

Speak softly and gently
And let the petals blow on your lips
And speak as the innocent does
Wear smile when the neighbour knocks
Though in the day or after evening fall
And of a bit of favour begs

Divorce: imagism
Mohd Arshad Sep 2015
Solitary, at a white night,
As snowflakes were diving into hollow,
To her remote room I skittered!

Smoke went up stairs
And cigar was lying on pyres!

I moused in like a thief-cat into the kitchen!

In a silver platter
My wedding ring was sobbing
While on the fluffy pillow
Her deflated head wallowed!

On the wall
I inked--GOOD NIGHT!

in the humble showers
of the gibbous moon,
on the marble floor,
the white-feathers cat
tarries her sojourn
in the kitchen.
she can scoot there,
the door is open and
the milk is hanging from
the branches upto her height.
no, her innocrnce chains her legs
to go through the music anytime.
in her life, she has learnt
the moonlight is always snow
as it never mingles with darkness.

The Short Song Of Beauty
Mohd Arshad Oct 2014
Beauty is the weaning movements of the young moon,
beauty is the dying embers of the burning sun,
beauty is the going back of the white-feathers clouds,
beauty is the farewell of the rain in the sky,
beauty is the fall of the yellow leaves,
beauty is the drooping of the flowers,
beauty is everything that smiles,
beauty lies in you and me too,
if we respect it,
if we care it,
if we love it,
if we are sympathetic towards its lost lustre.

Look at the twinkling star
Passing by in the sky
Be jolly O baby

Mother is clouds care is rain
You must smile and you can
O baby rejoice the rain don't sigh
Keep playing and be butterfly
O baby be jolly
Please don't cry
Life is sweeter if mother nigh
Life is kite that goes up high
O baby be jolly
And listen her lullaby
O baby O baby

First summer rain
Mohd Arshad Jun 2016
The moon smiled
Like the baby to see the doll.

The silver boys
Circled her intentionally.

Beautiful. Full of splendor.
Blue was blue.

She called me from inside.
Eager to drink wine from her lips,
I turned to her,
Leaving them alone to have a chance.
Glass was filled, offered.
Empty, empty.
I heard a sound, soft touch.
They came to thank me, I thought.
Clouds had prevented, I peeped out,
The rains fingers caressed my cheeks.
Blushed, I drew and to be honest
Asked her for one more drought.
And outside,
She kept sending me invitation.

Hopelessness

Mohd Arshad Jan 2016
Midnight was in bloom.
The lamp in my room spilled shadows.
With its soft fingers the chill kept pushing me
Under the blanket. It was doing its own work.
On the table my character on papers was undressed.
As I sipped some droughts of self-served coffee,
And mused on the wish list inked on memory,
Outside, the funeral bells jingled and crept in.
In a jiffy I stuck out of window, the chill prohibited.
On such a time of celebration of the New year, death?
Puzzled me. Feelings of insecurity covered me.
The 2015 was being carried by time into space.
Something sparkled in the moonlight. Very incandescent.
I gazed. Some words in golden hue were written.
WORK IS THE NOBLEST THING.
THE SPECIAL THING TO BE CROWNED,
TO BE HONOURED, TO BE TASTED
AGAIN AND AGAIN THOUGH SOMETIMES
SALTY OR SOUR OR A VERY HARD NUT.
HUMAN GLORY LIES IN WORKING.
HAPPINESS HINGES ON IT.

The Death Of A Puny Crow
Mohd Arshad Sep 2014
A puny crow, swimming in malice,
to see a beautiful swan in the moon-lit orchard,
took flight to the clouds, marching in the sky,
and pleaded for a white dress.
they, jolted and befuddled at its wish, said,
"O babe! Innocent and naive to life,
we are not the heavenly power for bliss
nor assume any form to have an upper hand;
we are only mist that, at His behest,
fetches remedy for wounds of nature
and necessities of humans."
the crow, with a negative thought,
changed the course to the snow.
for some couples of minutes it flew
and reached the hill
where he was soundly sleeping.
with its beak, exited and full of passion,
pricked him and began:
" O snow, blessed and contented,
you deck out the mountains and fields;
this, a little bird, beseech you to cover it
till his last dance on the tree.
a sparkling smile beamed on his face,
and he, in a sombre tone, replied,
" O my friend! I melt little by little to nothingness!
Do you want me on your skin that is like ours?
Listen! Life is a serious tale,
entangled in plots of fate,
and we have to bow,
and this is worship of the Almighty.
you, man and me are the clouds
that are unreal but full of splendour."
the crow, unable to chew the puzzle,
and incapable to take the proper decision,
dived into the deep valley.

An Imagist Poem: Two
Mohd Arshad May 2015
O pool!
How tranquilly thou sleep
Like the coal canopy
And the fishless aquarium!

Do you get up
Like the dead leaf on the lawn
Tickled by the playing wind
Or like the mirror
When someone combs his braid?

How sweetly thou smile
To see the sky early beaming!
How comfy life thou live!
How free of arrows-filled quiver!

Don't thou feel ennui?
O pool, how solitary!

On My Glass
Mohd Arshad Mar 2015
On my glass
The white-feathers shadows screen,
A zeal-inflated life zoom in blue,
A dream!
An arrow out of a quay!

Like cattle
they trod on air sparked by Phoebus!
The passionate youths on a journey
To notch up a sum!

Dreams are theme of life
They do know
And know the message of dawn!

O my companions! My mentors
As you sail to your harbour
My voice says to me;

"Ope thy wings
Weather is salubrious
Till the  Last glow gleams within!

Time is not yours,
Make it and soar and soar!"

Depression: imagist poem

Have you ever seen
Depression in dark robes?

Have you spoken to him

Do it now ere it's too late

And you fall prey!

Tragedy
Mohd Arshad Sep 2014
The lamp-lit street
created a character:
under the umbrella,
crawling like a lame,
and like a fisher man
when the ripples dont
mirror the marlins,
and he, in the hope,
throws his last bet
to make his lost day
a big jackpot.
yesterday night,
he was a great player
behind the curtain,
full of spirit.
tragedy set the stage ablaze
and he was left burning.
