The wind blows
chilling me
& a rising sun
warms my face.

Rain falls on my lips,
sprinkles
my naked body
& I get turned on.

It's that easy,
what Mother Nature
does to me.

O Darling,
I try
& I try
& I try
& I cry
& I cry.

O Sugar,
I can't kiss you with just words,
I can't stroke you with my pen
or make real love to you
with my passionate-verse.

O Sweet Baby,
the best I can ever do
will never be good enough
& sadly,
eventually,
leave both of us
crying
alone.

When kids pop more pills than balloons
at a fair, take more rips from bongs
than Beyblades, shake hands with *****
dollars and plastic bags, steal more money
than hearts, are in more mugshots than family
photos, **** more than war, sell more ****
than lemonade, read more billboards than books,
go through more girlfriends than socks in a week,
text more than they write, inject more ******
than flu vaccinations, drink more beer than fruit punch,
put their lips around more pipes than Popsicles,
and die more than live;
then we'll know we've failed them.

Well now the sky might be sad
We cherish even the fights we have
The droplets are fretful tears of pain
Torn out with an excuse of rain

Outside the road is not wet
But in my heart it is raining
And all the love we have kept
Now like always; won't be failing

The sun is not creeping out yet
And the birds are not singing
Tell me darling have you slept?
Or is even your heart ringing?

Sing to me about your heartache
In a voice with a trembling shake
I know because even I lie awake
I know because even I lie in wait

And lover when the rains go away
Sit and count the falling stars
With me in the cold today
Bathed in the warmth of your heart
When you are tired but cannot sleep
With secrets that your heart cannot keep
Then spill some ink and and botch the page
For a poet the honest paper is the stage

Here lies my eighteenth birthday,
The days we've kissed, and said goodbye

And all the laughs and heart to hearts,
Our extinguished tears and fiery eyes,

And all our childish fantasies,
Dog breeds, houses, children's names,

And the blackened fragments of our lungs --
From which we laughed and gayly sung --

Now rest peacefully in the ashtray.

You consume my dreams.
The one escape I have is reality.
How is it that,
you've found a way to consume that too.

I CRAVE YOU

I crave the way you touch me with your lips and the way your fingers float across my hips.
I crave the way your legs go in between mine and the way your smile gives me butterflies inside.
I crave hearing your voice the way you say I love you and I crave falling asleep feeling safe and sound next to you.
