How much time
do you have
decades or days
how much of your allotment
have you used up
do you drink or smoke
do you live
heh asking you
like you know
all are days are numbered
but the exact number
is not for us to know
maybe for the best
maybe just to annoy us.

In the belief
that I was a phoenix
I let myself burn
I knew
that if  I could be reborn
I would do things right
I made ash of myself
for a second chance
probably should have done more
with my first one.

Lucifer was much too human
always striving for more
he should've known his place
it would seem
Easy to believe a king
would write such a story
or have someone write it
as the case might be.

As I was preaching to the choir
It dawned on me
that an easily pleased audience
was quite nice
if not the best for growth.

Superfluous
can't feed the soul
if you starve to death
it has its place
as all things do
but is it simple luxury?

Oh time
You willful thing
No body controls you
We simply try
To keep an eye
Out for you
You move too fast
You move too slow
For our tastes
But I don't suppose

I wonder will we ever
Discover how to control you
Is that just a Sci fi pipe dream
Well we can't today
Maybe tomorrow
It always seems

Are happening tomorrow.

for a second there
everything was a tiny thing
easy to understand
but only for a moment
I think
honestly the memory
is rather hazy
probably a delusion.
