There is a point in believing
That we all one day must cross
In the mind, in the soul
But mainly in the heart

On the straight and narrow path
Is where my friend you'll find
All the answers that you lack
In the form of Jesus Christ

Whether your walk is gentle
Or you ride the razors edge
We all one day will make it to
The place we're being led

Either by our own dark desires
Which will bring us down in time
Or by the softening of the heart
To the truth of Jesus Christ

So many signs along the way
Can't say you've not been warned
With so much of life at play
Being tattered as well as torn

You'd think that you'd be used to it
At this point in time
Before it is you give up on it
Give in to Jesus Christ

When you find you're sleeping on
A bed of hardened nails
And that life here on earth
Is a living hell

In word and deed the rest you need
I'll tell you where to find
It's the point where your belief
Should be in Jesus Christ

Because life can be a cancer
With Jesus as the cure
If you're looking for answers
My friend look no further

All life has to offer
Is the minimum of hype
When the truth is called for
Call on Jesus Christ
It's not my intention to pound anyone with my Jesus  hammer,
I just wish you could see the true freedom Jesus has to offer.

John,
are you sleeping
can't you see that
life is not the same

John,
I am finding
that I'm still crying
since you left that day

John,
how is your mother
how are the others
tell Julia I said, hi

John,
can you hear the music
hope you didn't lose it
do they make you behave

John,
are you listening
nothings changed since then
peace has still not come to play

John,
with the life you were having
could you have Imagined
that it would end this way

Jolly brings a smile to the crowd
Circus life is what it's all about
As children laugh out loud in their play
Case in point it's another Jolly day

A world of smiles is Jolly's goal in life
If you smile once he'll try his best at twice
Down in the dumps you should be circus bound
There to lift you up is Jolly the Circus Clown

But when the laughter dies and the smiles all end
Jolly sits in front of his T.V. in his darkened den
Eating wrapped up tin plate dinners all alone
Jolly is not jolly when Jolly's at home

He's been doing this for quite awhile
It's a shame that Jolly can't make his own self smile...

add this to your memories
if you care to jot it down
of you and me weak in the knees
when we're both around

of the stammer and the stutter
more oft than should be allowed
if you'd like these as your memories
feel free to jot them down

to later show years down the road
when life turns bitter cold
the memories of you and me
faded pages of our love

jot down quickly all you see
if you care to have them last
memories to safe keep
these days of future past

to hold in hand the day we met
along with words we said
you might want to jot this down
if you haven't done it yet

how long has it been that we both have been here
it's so hard to tell with each day anew
i reach out my hand and in yours it lands
with the path that we choose being the journey of two

all that we have is new to the making
taking love out of bounds and letting it loose
where it shares in the treat of both our heart beats
on the path that we choose being the journey of two

lighting a lantern to place in-between us
holding on tight as our shadows move
though we never strayed far from who love says we are
with the path that we choose being the journey of two

When times get hard
When times get tough
When I feel I've had
More than enough

I try and think
Of the simple things
And the joy in life
That they bring

Like the upward crease
in a baby's smile

Or the feeling you get
after the extra mile

The fluttered flight
of a butterfly

The erratic beauty
that plays across the sky

The sun in both
the rise and set

The heart of a child
in its innocense

A love that has
dug in deep

A father that's good
at listening

A shower in
the month of May

The glowing shimmer
of a mountains lake

A bride and groom
the moment that

They say I do
to the life they'll live

Or the joy that's found
in a new birth

That makes it all
for all it's worth

When times get hard
When times get rough
When I feel I've had
More than enough

These are just
A few of the things
I think about
For the joy they bring
Mike Hauser Dec 2016
Every time I do wrong
I find this is where I stand
On the corner of forgiveness
Across the street from I'll be ******

I could stay here in confessing
Ask forgiveness or take a loss
I could move in either direction
By way of Judas or Saint Paul

Saint Paul thought him a righteous man
As Judas felt the same
Taking God's law into their own hands
Playing their religious games

Did they do it for right reasons
Or the fame and fortune that it holds
How do you dress up for your seasons
By way of Judas or Saint Paul

While most our lives all read the same
Chapter along with verse
The turn of the page could go either way
As life runs along its course

You could either seek repentance
Or go down with the fall
Its all in how you run your business
By way of Judas or Saint Paul

Who went and made me judge
Sat me in the jury
Gave this need for the hanging tree
At the risk of perjury

When did I miss the point
In the pointing of these fingers
In this self-righteous path I am led
As the judgemental jury lingers

Judge, jury, hangman all in one
Guilt before innocence
This trail of errors is only won
By adding my head to the list
Lately I've noticed I've been judging people I see on the streets by their outward appearance.  Time to reign my attitude back in! Over all a man should be known by his character
Mike Hauser Aug 2018
Why do we judge from the outside in
As if that has to do
With the fact, the way we act
When our looks don't give a clue

You could be a crook with the best of looks
In a three piece suit
Or a millionaire with unkept hair
In a line for soup

We need to realize it's the eyes
That so often decieve
And from the start look with the heart
If we're to truly see

And not bat our eyes at the outside
But instead look deep within
After all a person's soul
Is not made up of skin
Mike Hauser Feb 5
Out to lunch this judgmental bunch
At this pressure point in time
Raising our hands to gladly condemn
Those not of the same frame of mind

Quick with the pointing of fingers
Ready with the unsteady hand
How easily we forget to remember
Every last one of us I'd say are the same

We just go about things differently
When saying who's right and condemning who's wrong
We all could be judged-mentally
With no place to sit or foot to stand on

Before you jump on the bus to just fuss and cuss
Remove the plank from your eye
To see clear enough what your brother does
Before you judge what, you do in kind

Out to lunch this judgmental bunch
At this pressure point in time
Raising our hands to gladly condemn
Those not of the same frame of mind

July fills summers basic needs

Of high heat and humidity

With every stifling breath it breathes

With every drop of sweat that beads

July fills summers basic needs
The continuing saga of poetic months
Mike Hauser Jun 2015
In its place of need
June is calling out to me
With a summer tune

Sure to keep the beat
Played by the sweltering heat
Adding to its mood

There's a Whopper of a sun
Peeking over a field of fries
Trying its best to ketchup
With this finger licking life

As a bubbly soda stream
Runs through the middle of it all
Kids in donut boats
Paddle by with Pixie straws

Some might take a dip with chips
Be it ridges, be it curls
It's easy to see that this
Is a spinning Junk Food world

With flying pizza pies
Pepperoni U.F.O.'s
Ice cream slip and slides
Where sprinkles slow the flow

Tuesday's roll around
Tacos come to town
Holy moly guacamole
With fist in face we shove them down

Every woman, child, and man
Every boy, adult, and girl
Are here to help to lend a hand
In this spinning junk food world

i see you again waiting for the man
***** dollar bills crumpled in shaky hands
your veins would collapse if they weren't running sand
high risk life, low demands

unaware with a vacant stare
of your surroundings, like you even care
there's only one reason as to why your here
and it's not to admire yourself in cars passing mirrors

with the man running late the time ticks lunatic fringe
not knowing he's laying dead in some junkies den
the life style he lived finally did him in
and you with no idea soon you'll be following him

because the life of a ****** is no life at all
one step from the ledge with the needles drawl
milk blood to make sure you get it all
one last time before last call...
Mike Hauser Jun 2015
Can you tell me where it is
Can you show me where it's at
Could you please share with me
If there's any of it left

Maybe just a pinch
Perhaps a line or two
Don't you know if I had some
That I would share with you

Never seen it in a bottle
Nor in a leather pouch
But know that when you take it
It brings on a smile

Doesn't come in ounces
Or in bulk by the pound
As good as this stuff is
You'd think there'd be more around

We've all heard so much about it
And it's how we'd love to live
No need to do without it
Take that hit of happiness

We could all be junkies
Craving the latest fix
Slapping on our backs that monkey
Being happy happiness addicts

I'm just a guy that has learned how to rhyme
Each time I press pen to paper
I take it line by line by enticing line
Rainbow sherbet most often the flavor

I never know the abstract of the subject
When paying a penny for my thoughts
Either you do or you don't love it
Whether you like it or not

Most times you'll see I'm not overly deep
Just barely skimming this demented minds surface
At times you might find I take a high dive
If you blink though you may never notice

Like I said at the time, just a guy who's captured the rhyme
Using it to my fool advantage
Where I try to steer clear of the insanely weird
While wading knee deep in the outlandish

So hold on tight and it should be alright
Pull the plug as we swirl in this tub
Taking a ride on the very next rhyme
Let me know though when you've had enough
Mike Hauser Apr 2015
here i am
just a man
flesh and bone
alone i stand
i play the part
mouth to hand
standing here
just a man
there is no need
to envy me
as i'm a product
of all you see
a thin disguise
of wants and needs
just a man
i do believe
Mike Hauser Sep 2017
it's just another day on the road
just like yesterday and the day before
if you stop to think a minute
you might live to regret it
just another day don't you know

just another day in the wake
of this day being like any other day
if you are the first to greet it
or the very last to meet it
don't you know it's just another day

just another day of do's and don'ts
where you say you will but in the end you won't
with this all set aside
you find not on your life
just another day don't you know

just another day on parade
as all the clowns around try and make their way
one way or another
up one side and down the other
don't you know it's just another day
Mike Hauser Dec 2014
Better don your leather chaps it's going to be a rough one
Pack extra roll caps into your Six Gun

Ask for double shots to compliment your Starbucks
All that's left now is to wish you good luck

Bring an extra pack of Bottle Rockets if you have them
Monkey wrench and needle nose pliers if you can find some

This could read as the last page to the final chapter
In what we anticipate as the Happily Ever After

Do all you can do to bring the water balloons
A cassette if you could of your favorite Show Tunes

Add extra sugar in your Slurpee from the 7-11
This ain't going to be easy is what I am guessing

Get a tight grip on your Thingamajig
Loosen the top on the Pickle jar lid

We're about to go through another life lesson
Which ain't nothing new if I was a man betting

Pack your bags for another day in the life
Extra padding would help for the bumpy ride

Think we've thunk of it all there's no more to say
We're now more than ready for another day
Mike Hauser Aug 2017
It's just another day on the road
Just another empty promise
I've made on the go
I have gotten so used to it
You'd think by now I'd know
Just another empty promise
From this empty soul

It's just another day that I'll behave
Just as long as everything
This day goes my way
Don't do as I so often do
But do as I too often say
Just another day
Where mistakes are to be made

Just another day, more of the same
Whenever things do not go right
I find someone else to blame
Never paid enough mind
As life seldom goes my way
More of the very same
With little chance of change

Just another high and lofty goal
One that I've set for myself
That too often ends up in a hole
I've had a rash of new beginnings
But the end is all I know
And here I find myself alone again
Just another day on the road
Mike Hauser Jun 2014
This is just another love poem set to rhyme
Really no need to waste your time
Whether it's love you lose or love you find
It's just another love poem so nevermind

Just another love poem in your hand
Low on ideas, still high in demand
Been here for years yet to be banned
Another one of those poems way out of hand

Just another love poem tossed in the breeze
With just enough umph to fill a few needs
One or two I love you's with a few you love me's
Just another love poem brought on the scene

Just another love poem to come cross the wire
Just another love poem pulled from the mire
Just another love poem to jump into the fire
Just another love poem in dire need of retire
Mike Hauser Oct 2018
he is just a poet
too many years now to count

occupies time by setting to rhyme
all the hidden words his pen pours out
it seems there's a never-ending stream
of words that freely flow
from the end of the pen into this poets hand
that never seem to let him go
blowing with ease this poetic breeze
seldom seen but often felt

he is just a poet
too many years now to count

For everything I've ever done
Or about to do
Every attitude
I continually exude
Every high and mighty
Clearly on display
Every single time
I have wanted it my way
The many bouts I've had
Of my selfishness
I'm asking here and now
Kindly for, forgiveness

For this wall of silence
I have sadly built
All the clashes that I've had
An endless battle of my will
The many times I've lied
Shaving off the truth
This lion mane of pride
I so quickly let fly loose
Everything that I have kept
Nothing more, nothing less
I'm asking here and now
Kindly for, forgiveness
Mike Hauser Sep 2024
I shake my head
Commence to rattling
Scratch the perfect spot

And with that said
Both right and left
Ear canals, I plug up

To give my mind
Much needed time
To round that doggie up

This desperate need
For coherency
Wait, don't leave...I'm not quite done

I roll my eyes
From side to side
Turn my head and cough

Clear my throat
As if to know
I'm about to pull this off

All of this
If you've yet to guess
To squeeze out one meager thought
Mike Hauser Aug 2018
Your friends were floored
When you found the Lord
Changing your way of life

Yet they saw in you
Something new
Different as day and night

Though every now and then
You dip your toes in
The muddy waters of the mainstream

But that's okay
It's not like you dip every day
Anyways it's only up to your knees

"Just because you're a Christian
doesn't mean you have a license to sin"

You grew up in church
Where the lessons you learned
Were all grilled into your head

Barely leaving a mark
Upon your heart
To be nurtured and Godly fed

Although you know Jesus
There's a consensus
You're still a babe in the faith

Eating soft food and milk
Not sure you ever will
Taste the true goodness that is The Way

"Just because you've been forgiven
doesn't mean you have a license to sin"

You do everything right
Know all the Christian sound bites
Pray sometimes when you get the chance

Don't drink or smoke
Know that dope is for dopes
And wouldn't dare dance if given the chance

You see the world in its mess
And so thankful you're His
And with the good as gone you don't associate

You dabble in love
Hoping that it's enough
While in your heart you still hold hate

"Just because you're a Christian
doesn't mean you have a license to sin"
Mike Hauser Sep 2016
Some people don't
Some people do
Get their just deserts
In what they're going through

Some people bring
It all upon themselves
While others are hit blindly
Out of left field

Who's to say
In what life tosses your way
Could be yours could be theirs
When we make mistakes

Hear now what I say
Mark my every word
Sometimes we do sometimes we don't
Get what we deserve
Mike Hauser Oct 2019
They're fighting over here
We're fighting over there
We say that we're concerned
But do we really care
About what all goes on
"Just leave me alone"

Riots in the streets
What's that got to do with me
Waving signs about
Could you keep the noises down
Watch where those rocks are thrown
"Just leave me alone"

Too many now to count
Of people going to Hell
My attitude in that is...
Oh well
It's not like they were not warned
"Just leave me alone"

Babies in the womb
Too often rhymes with tomb
What do you want from me
What am I supposed to do
When I'm warm and safe at home
"Just leave me alone"

People on the streets
With no food to eat
Nowhere to lay their heads
No place to wash their feet
I turn my head and move along
"Just leave me alone"

Just leave me alone
I'm fine by myself
You do what you want
It's not my place to help
How many sing this song
"Just leave me alone"
So many these days sit on the sideline watching the world crumble around them not wanting to get involved...
It's so easy to get ****** into the "Just leave me alone" attitude.
I often struggle with it myself. But in turn, we shouldn't be here to tell others what they are doing is wrong but to help see them through it to a better way.
Mike Hauser Jan 2019
Have you ever heard of poets
Being superstars
Riding round in limos
Groupies by the score

All the ones I know are famous
Have been decades in the grave
Maybe that's why I have a hard time
Even giving my poems away

Why I can rhyme with the best of them
What have they got on me
I also want all the fans I can
Throwing themselves at my feet

I hear that Edgar Allen Poe
Had a goth ******* the side
And romantic William Shakespeare
Had women chase him all his life

And even that meanie Bukowski
Still has those drooling over every word he has to say
And little ole me out here in the weeds
Can't even get the time of day

Let alone get a single one
To even look at me
It's a lonely life when all you do is write
It all out in poetry

Perhaps a lasting catchphrase
Where they'll all remember me
"To me to be or not to be only through death will I succeed"
When it comes to poetry...
Mike Hauser Oct 2019
Do you feel the pangs of hunger
Do you feel the driving need
From one place to another
And all points in between

The music that we play today
Is slightly out of tune
But it's okay, we'll find our way
As we're all just passing through

You could complain about your circumstance
And the life that you've been thrown
Gaze around when you get the chance
In this you're not alone

Most times you can make a choice
In what you choose to do
So hold on tight and run the course
As we're all just passing through

You can press ******* the throttle
And watch it quickly pass you by
Fill your rear view mirror with sorrow
Speeding through this life

Or you could sit back and relax
Enjoy it all on cruise
Did you hear the fact when I said that
We're all just passing through
Mike Hauser Apr 2015
Just when I think I've conquered anger
It rears it's ugly head
Just when I'm in most need of patience
There isn't any left

Just when I feel I'm moving forward
I fall two steps behind
Just when I'm sure I've made it
Somebody moves the line

Just when things are running smooth
I hit a bumpy road
Just when I've got it all figured out
There's something new I'm shown

Just when I'm about to make my point
I can't remember what's been said
Just when I'm about to sharpen it
I run out of lead

Just when I feel I can take no more
Just when I've had enough
Just then is when I see the need
For the power of God's love

pigeonholed
break out in song
it's more what you do
than what you know

the way you behave
not what you say
all black and white
no shade of gray

try hard as you might
to put up a fight
prancing and dancing
to the devils delight

but you keep moving on
in the direction you're going
not sure where that is
with no way of knowing

the struggle is real
you've seen the signs
you know how it feels
being just shy of right

if it sputters, spits
seems to slip
might as well
get used to it
over easy
easy as
i've learned from
experience

hard to find
change your mind
in and out
most of the time
it's a shame
if not a crime
as it all
comes to light

moving fast
built to last
please feel free
to be my guest
innies, outies
this and that
just the facts ma'am
just the facts

Is there nothing they wont do
The depths that they'll sink to
Moral hypocrisy they'll let loose
Underhanded that they will use

Just to get elected...

Lies that they perceive
Putting ***** in the ***** deeds
Nothing at that they wont sneeze
Open Hell's gates and set them free

Just to get elected...

Tell us what we want to hear
Playing off our biggest fears
The headlights to our road deer
Always sounding so sincere

Just to get elected...

Tell us that they do but don't
Tell us that they will but won't
All in hopes they don't get caught
Never ever taking fault

Just to get elected...

Digging up the buried past
20-30 years at best
Never giving it a rest
Is this what we're left with

Just to get elected...

It's not like we have not been warned
They're the early birds and we're the worms
As they tell us no need to be alarmed
They mean us no physical harm

Just to get elected...

Remember this is the dating game
What you see is the well behaved
All I've got to say is just you wait
There's a big difference between do and say

With the elected...

Don't care much about the beginning
Just want a happy end
If I knew that you were leaving
I would have taken time to beg
Now I'm left with nothing
Out of nothing less
Than what it is I started with
Before it is you left

Out of all that I remember
Nothing is the same
The night is cold and bitter
When daylight takes the blame
Inside the steady glow of fire
Throws shadows on my face
Taking hold of memories
That once held warm this place

Don't care much about the beginning
Just want a happy end...

There's a castle in Duluth
Made out of sugar cubes

And the moat that flows out front
Is filled with soda pop

Fruit that grows on trees
Is the finest in jelly beans

In the nearby spring fed lake
People swim in grape Kool-Aid

The streets where those people live
Are cobblestoned with M&M's

In their houses made of brick
From different flavors of licorice

With picket fences in the lawns
Constructed out of candy corn

When cotton candy clouds
Move in from the South

The crowds open their mouths
As the skittles come raining down

The days are always sweet
In the Kingdom of Kandy

Where the King and Queen rule fair the days
With scepters made of candy canes

In their castle of sugar cubes
This Kandy Kingdom of sweet tooth's

I have a serious crush on Dorthy
While she has a Kansas crush on them
The Lion and the Scarecrow
Not to mention the Tin Man

The only time you see her
These days is when
She's skipping about town with those three clowns
Her not so ordinary new friends

She says that they all met
Somewhere over the rainbow
While she met me over coffee
Wouldn't you know that's the way it goes

It's hard for me to compete
With anything like that
Though one is brainless, one is heartless
The other a scaredy cat

She says they show her adventure
Where the only thing that I
Can really show her is Kansas
And its vast empty sky line

The few times that Dorthy
And I have ever had a chance to go out
The magical land of Oz
Is all she wants to talk about

To me it seems like a dream
And we all know how those are
Not really very interesting
If you don't play a part

So I stand off at a distance
Gaze on from a far
While she along with those three
Skip off with my heart

Cause I have a serious crush on Dorthy
While she has a big Kansas crush on them
The Lion and the Scarecrow
Not to mention the Tin Man

Oh, and by the way Dorthy
Those ruby reds that you have on
Don't really go with
Your Kansas city overalls

Let's keep Christ in Christmas
Say the stickers and the signs
When was the day we lost our way
And can we find it back in time

Perhaps if we focused less on us
And more on the risen King
He'd not only be in Christmas
But also everything

I'm not saying that old St. Nicholas
Does not serve out a purpose
But when it comes to saving souls
I'm pretty sure he's worthless

So let's keep Christ throughout the year
Not only in this season
Making it to those around us clear
He truly is the reason

If you must know where she keeps the shadows

They're in a top drawer beside her bed

She keeps them locked tight in the night

So as not to wake the dead

She only brings them out at daybreak

To the warmth of the suns morning song

Tosses them about the room

So they can play games on the walls

Remember when life was easy
When it wasn’t all that hard
Now we struggle keeping up with the Joneses
And wonder if the Smiths are who they say they are

That was before we thought we needed
All they told us that we did
I’m to the point where they can keep it
This surely is no way to live

That’s when you say don’t call me Shirley
As we both chuckle over that
The only thing that keeps us going
Is the fact we still can laugh

Remember when Penny candy
Cost a penny and nothing more
And we were happy with one piece
Before greed yanked ******* our cord

Simpler ways, simpler days
We were simply happier then
Before we made the mistake
Of them telling us what we had to have

Back then when life was easy
When it really wasn’t all that hard
Now we struggle to keep up with the Joneses
And wonder if the Smiths are who they say they are

I remember the day
You gave your love to me
When I heard you say
Take it, it's free
With no stipulations
But guaranteed
You never would take
It away from me

And I gave it back
Along with the love that I had
To love you twice over
Because love is like that
When you finally find
The perfect match
You'll do all that you can
To keep it like that

So here we are now
Passing love back and forth
As I give you all mine
And you give me yours
To think it all started
At the hearts open door
When you gave me your love
And said keep it, it's yours

There's nothing new I'm telling you
No rear view mirror on top of your head
There is no time to look behind
But what's ahead instead

When I looked last the past is past
Where down the drain it goes
There's not a thing you can do to bring
It back, that's all she wrote

It makes no sense to dwell on it
When it is up and gone
With each new day,  yesterday fades
With the coming of the new mornings dawn

So if you should ask about the past
I'll say what's done is done
No need to look back on what has been left
Just keep on keeping on

I wish I may
I wish I might
I wish it all
Would turn out right
When I see the shape
This world is in
I can't help
But to keep praying

I wish I might
I wish I may
I wish it all
Would go away
The fall of man
The rise of sin
I can't help
But to keep praying

I wish I may and might
All I like
But only prayer
Can change a life
From this wretched
Man I am
I can't help
But to keep praying

Keep your hands out of my head
Your sweaty palms to yourself instead
If I want ideas I'll consult myself
I'll think real hard till I figure it out

This mind is not on the party line
With the ups and downs it's done it's time
The starts and stops, dings and dips
So keep your hands out of it

Keep your fingers from tickling
The thoughts inside my cranium
From what's been seen to what's been said
From a whole lot of nothing in what little is left

From heavy-handed, as light as you please
My brain can't stand when it's being squeezed
Above a whisper it's no secret kept
Keep your hands out of my head

Kevin says...
The morning air feels like rain
In hopes it washes away the dirt and shame
From this life and the night before

Kevin says...
Let the skies pour down Lord

Kevin says...
I've been so long on this road
Don't know how much further I have to go
Hangs dollar bills from the tops of trees

Kevin says...
So he can watch them blow in the breeze

Kevin says...
He doesn't know what more he likes
The middle of the day or the late of night
Guess if you must know the truth

Kevin says...*
He loves when the sun kisses the morning dawns early youth

here's a little kick
in the tail truth
the real world in which we live
does not revolve around you

the small pedestal
you've placed yourself on
only points due south
to all that is wrong

you want us all delusional
to your point of view
let me break it to you buddy
you best get a clue

cause you've clearly lost
most of your mind
so let me just toss
you a slight piece of mine

this he/she/furry
they/them/or their
i've come to the point
where i no longer care

feel free to join back
with reality
you'll find that it's not
such a bad place to be

i hope that this kick
in all honesty
did as much for you
as it has for me

kids these days
have no guarantee
no guarantee
on what they believe
and what they believe
can't always be seen
these days

kids these days
will take a page from the past
a page from the past
without being asked
without being asked
if it will last
these days

kids these days
are wasting their time
wasting their time
waiting in line
waiting in line
with nothing to find
these days

Standing center stage
Ready to give it all away
The comedian removes his coat
Set for a night of killing jokes

A murderer in his own right
Slices and dices with precision knife
At his feet, he draws the chalk line
Funny kills the crowd every time

Although some jokes go over their heads
Some also fall flat a grueling death
He tries to hide the beads of sweat that show
While doing his best at killing jokes

Smothered laughter comes in a can
***** the lid tight on ignorance
Which helps in the making of a comedic list
Writing it down then killing it

From the bloodbath, he takes a bow
Bathes off to the sound of the crowd
Smiles at the rambunctious applause
All from a night of killing jokes

I know that you have no idea
That this is even going on
Since so many years it's been
And all with you being gone

No one would believe me
Or accept all this as true
With you being so sweet and innocent
There's no way this is you

But I can't tell you how long now
You've been on this killing spree
As it is your memory
Keeps on killing me

That being all that I have left
Since you are here no more
Still you twist the blade with my thoughts of you
A little deeper in my heart

Until again you pierce the vain
That brings you back to mind
Burning through every part of me
Like wild fire, memory kept alive

So it can continue
On its crazy killing spree
Because it is your memory
That keeps on killing me
