Your Mom and Dad bought you love
Cause they had so little time
They could afford to really spend
Or they would have otherwise

They knew you were a loner
But did not understand
How a few short years down the road
You'd play out a losing hand

Only in passing were you ever thought of
As their troubled son
Never once in questioning
Why you needed all those guns

The hapless victims in your path
Wrong place, wrong time
As you shoved them to the other side
Cut down in their prime

Crazy is as crazy does
And crazy as they say

Was the day you cracked the lid
And let crazy have its way

The road on which you traveled
Burned the bottoms of your souls
So you took the one less traveled on
The one of lost control

Never with that much to say
You held it all inside
All we're left with now is who to blame
And the haunting question why

Not the only one who's out there
Just the latest in the string to act it out
More among the cracks and crevices
Of that there is no doubt

How will you be remembered
For the loved ones lost years to come
The memory that you left us with
Is that of the troubled one

Crazy is as crazy does
And crazy as they say

Was the day you cracked the lid
*
And let crazy have its way

Looking down on the crash site
The very spot where we fight
Perfecting on the crash and burn
Lessons given yet seldom learned

Daily sifting through rubble
In search of the once happy couple
The one that held us both so tight
Before we took this nose dive

Ruined lives in mid-flight
Looking down on the crash site
Both of us taking turns
Perfecting on the crash and burn

When you start to crave the rave
That mankind sometimes tosses your way
And you loose sight of the reason why
You do what you do when this first came to light

When it soon becomes your goal to receive the praise of man
Instead of making it more for the gift in hand
It's a problem that's festered from the beginning of time
That spreads like the plague through the heart and the mind

You may try and surrender, raise the white flag
Telling yourself there'll be no more of that
Still in the heat of the battle you take the enemies hand
And once again crave the rave of man

Everytime that you see me
I'm down on my hands and knees
You can bet, no secret kept
Crawling back to you again

It's so hard to run away
When all I do is run in place
Never able to escape
Crawling back to you each day

I accept you're in my head
Clinging till there's nothing left
One way street, read the signs
Crawling back with you in mind

I need a flame of different light
A different frame of you in mind
All that you have put me through
Crawling back again to you

After all this time you'd think I'd know
How to stand up on my own
And yet with all that being said
Crawling back is all I have

There's a hole in my head
Where the crazy gets in
Till I open my mouth
And it comes spilling out

It's almost the same
As the falling rain
Gets ****** back up
So it can do it again

I count myself lucky
There's only one hole
No telling how far
This crazy would go

Not that the hole in my head
Isn't well fed
A continuous flow
Of both here and to go

Fact is fiction, fiction fact
Not sure we can get it back
Who's to listen, who's to laugh

Crazy has come up to bat

What's mine is mine, what's yours is yours
Unless we change our minds of course
Are we bored with the soup du jour

Crazy's knocking at the door

From reality have we lost touch
Queasy feeling in our guts
How many of us are out to lunch

Crazy is crazily twisting knobs

Not sure if we should flip or fly
Spinning left, twisting right
Trudging through these troubled times

Crazy lately barks and bites

Two to Tango, who to trust
Barely room now on the bus
When blowing bubbles who needs gum

Crazy has snuck up on us

She says she thinks I'm crazy
I think she may be right
If not hanging on the edge
At least close to its side

So much so she worries about me
I wonder where all that comes from
You may call me crazy
But I think it might be love

All I really am is guessing
Speaking way too soon
Because if she is in love with me
Then she'd be crazy too
Mike Hauser Apr 2018
How can love
Lift you up
To the highest heights

And then
Just as quick
Kick you over the side

How can love
Hurt so much
Where all you do is cry

And then in
The same instance
Break you into smile

How can love
Be more than enough
And yet still question why

If only love
Could be understood
I wonder what we'd find
Mike Hauser Apr 2015
I believe crazy has finally stepped up to the plate
Here for its meet and greet
As we hang on the ledge by the thread of our pants
Sitting forward on the edge of our seats

With skyrocketing prices
Everywhere that you go
You've gotta be a gazillionaire
Just to walk through the door

without your morning dose of ordeal
you'd almost forget how normal it feels

And heaven forbid someone knocks on your door
Which sends you scurrying off into hiding
When clearly you've posted above the bell
A "NO SOLICITOR" sign

Not to mention the fighting of traffic
As the traffic fights back with you
Try not to frown or even smile
When the person in the next lane comes into view

Yes crazy is here to shake all our hands
Put us all into a spin
I'd like to tell you more about it
But it's hard to know where to begin...

Call me Gillespie
At the thought of choosing sides
This all makes me Dizzy
Where ones befuddled and the other lies

White toothed grinning alligator
Beady-eyed crocodile
Which will we regret later
We'll find out for sure after awhile

One to build a wall to keep us all
Safe from those who want a home
The other swinging doors wide open
Sweeping out deplorable's

Reading from the dictionary
They would make a lot more sense
Starting out with the B's
Blah, Blah, Blah, He said, She said

I wonder when we the sheeple
Will stand up and call their bluff
Give this all back to the people
Finally say enough's enough

Is this the best they have to offer
Who's to win this losing game
Will it be the constant cougher
Or the billionaire that's clearly insane

Sadly, this crazy train needs a conductor
To carry this fragile freight
Watch out for the Loco-motion though
As we jump track on this runaway
Mike Hauser Jun 2024
Ripley's Believe It Or Not has got nothing on us
Take a gander at the world outside
Just when you think it can't get any stranger than this
The Crazy Train arrives

With the bleepity bleeps out on the streets
Protesting the latest niche
They just follow along, lemmings in throng
Right off the edge of the cliff

And with the two old men running again
Wait a minute, haven't we been here before
What's even crazier than that, is the simple fact
We believe all we're being told

We have people that say they're He/She, Them/They
When asked who they think they are
And then get mad when we don't call them that
If you ask me, they were mad from the start

Then there's the money we spend not even trying to win
The latest in this long line of wars
As they continue to hide, the fact they're supplying both sides
And yet they still ask us for more

You can try and stick lipstick on this pig
Still, there's no way to deny
We've lost the bag of marbles we had
That at this point we'll never find

I could go on and on so let's just call this part one
Before I put the Rocky franchise to shame
As the rails daily laid may go beyond number  8
When it comes to sequels on this crazy train

There's something crazy going on these days
Down at the city zoo
The giraffes have joined the high society club
While the monkies are getting tattoos

The elephant's are packing up their trunks
And moving to the Bronx
With all the hippos on a diet
In an effort to lose their junk

The Lions have stopped lying
The cheetahs have stopped cheating
And as far as all their drinking
They're both going to A.A. meetings

The orangutans are the ones to blame
For a pyramid scheme gone bad
Left the zebras all in the red
When they lost everything they had

The crocodiles are out sunning themselves
By the pool drinking Piña coladas
While the mother snakes go on Maury
To try and figure out who is the father

Yes, things are a little crazy these days
Down at the city zoo
But if you were locked in a cage all day
Wouldn't you go crazy too?

I dress for comfort not for speed these days
And believe me I dress for comfort a lot
Forget the hassle of even tying a lace
When I slip into a cool pair of Crocs

I'm blessed to live near a Crocs store
And you know I can't help but go hog wild
Walls and walls of Crocs from ceiling to floor
In every imaginable color and style

When I dress for the night to show off my stuff
The smell of plastic permeates the air
It's like a drug, this shoe in which I am in love
I'll shout in the air! My love affair! I do not care!

You see I have my casual Crocs
As well as my Sunday go to meeting pair
They make me wish it was Sunday
more often than not
Cause when I wear them I'm in heaven
and feel I'm walking on air

On normal days when I mow yards for a living
I put on my Manly Work Crocs
When Winter is here and the cold comes a-licking
Crocs look stunning with knee high socks

So you see I have all of my bases covered
You've gotta love it, like it or not
Of course I walk on one side of the street,
my family the other
Cause I like to jump up and down, turn around,
skip and bounce whenever I am wearing my Crocs

I see you with that cross of gold
That is hung around your neck
Does that mean that your a Christian
Well I had no idea

Believe me when I say to you
I'm not here to judge you of your sins
But that cross you wear means much to me
So where do I begin

First of all do you know the one
And why it is he died
And why it's sometimes referred to as
The Sacrificial Cross of Christ

And what about the countless followers
Who gladly gave their lives
To spread the truth that they held to
The Cross of Jesus Christ

Some might wonder and disagree
Yet still find it rather sad
That at thirty three one would willing
Give up what little life they had

It wasn't what he gave up
But what it was he gained
It wasn't for himself he died
But for the sinful plight of man

You see in ourselves there is no hope
Nothing that we can
Do to earn what we don't deserve
In this state of fallen man

That is why it is he came
To justify the lost
And remind us of the Fathers love
In that Sacrificial Cross

So you may have only thought of it
As a piece of jewelry that you wear
Next time you hang it around your neck
Remember what it is and why I care

This life I live in front of you is a crossword puzzle life
Blank boxes running up down as well as side to side
Fill a few in there is still so much I hide
Inside of this, my crossword puzzle life

A  lot of what you see is still a mystery
Just enough I revel to you to make you stop and think
Black and white on the outside is what I let you see
All the while a crossword puzzle is what is hidden underneath

It's like my life is set on cruise control
Push the button and watch it go
Trying my best to keep a steady flow
In this traffic pattern of do's and don'ts

In my quest to stay ahead
A blur at times of who I am
Moving lane to lane then back again
Trying to avoid the latest traffic jam

By now I know my tank is low
Holding my breath in hope
Not sure how much further I can go
In this life set on cruise control

Call me mad if you must
But please first hear me out
I just got back from the Cryogenics lab
And guess who's head I picked from the crowd

If your thinking Jimmy Hoffa
No, he's somewhere deep asleep in concrete
I grabbed someone much more spectacular
I grabbed the frozen head of Walt Disney

You see years ago he had himself chilled
At least that which contains the brain
The useless part they put in a casket
And far be it for me to dig up a grave

I've now got Walt packed on ice in a cooler
It wouldn't do to have his head melt
What kind of operation do you think I'm running here
Some kind of Mickey Mouse?

First on my agenda find Mr. Disney a body
One that won't give out on him too soon
Cause once we thaw out Walt and he starts to talk
There's no telling what he'll want to do

So I let my fingers do the walking
Here's something interesting...Bodies By Jake
I just hope we find Jakes place in time
Before the ice melts and we are to late...

...talk about false advertisement!
Jake the snake didn't sell bodies at all
Walt and I are more than a little disturbed
There really should be some sort of law

Guess I should have thought this all over
Long before I thought of it now
So as a special treat I thought Mr. Disney and me
Could go see his "World", so we headed South

Standing in line to purchase tickets
The cooler shakes when Walt hears the prices by chance
No need to tell you that if he had lower extremities
He would crap them if he wore any pants

We decided to do something a little cheaper
And with a Disney movie just out today
It was kind of hard to follow along though
When all you could hear was his body spinning in the grave, miles away

Guess it's to early to try and bring back Walt Disney
Maybe one day I can try it again
But before we leave for the trip back home
We stop at the concession for diet soda and Jr. mints

Once we got back to the Cryogenics lab
They're looking for me so over the fence I let the head fly
No need to worry, one of the guard dogs grabbed it
And I'm sure drug it right back inside
I hear that the Disney Corporation, after reading this have gathered together their top notch lawyers and are wanting to set up a meeting...
I'm thinking they're going to offer me a movie deal!   Wish me luck!
I'm thinking Leonardo DiCaprio could play Walt...

pardon me please

while i cry you a poem

filled with sadness and sorrow

that spills from the soul

an ever deep longing

only a poet would know

pardon me please

while i cry you a poem
I haven't felt right about this since I ran it...so I broke it in two.

Little Bobby Norton
Disappeared that cold Winters night
No one saw it coming
But none were that surprised

There had always been the rumors
Floating round these parts for years
Still nothing does hit harder
Than a womans desperate tears

Rumors from the children
Spoke of haunted woods just past dusk
And the thing about little Bobby
Is he'd always been curious

The town brought in the trackers
Who showed up with hound dogs
Bringing assurance to the masses
They'd stop at no cost

With underlying whispers
They'd bring him back dead or alive
Spent the night looking for clues
Hoping for some sort of sign...

As I tell this story
Fourteen years have long gone past
They never did find Bobby
And sadly, he wasn't the last

You hear every so often
Another kid does not come home
Yet no one goes out searching
They've found it's best if left alone

All the parents can do is try
But sometimes it's not enough
Cause just like little Bobby Norton
Some kids are just curious

CURSING IS UGLY
CURSING IS FOUL
DOES NOBODY NO GOOD
NO WAY AND NO HOW

IF YOU CAN'T THINK OF SOMETHING
NICE YOU CAN SAY
DON'T LET 4 LETTER WORDS
GET IN THE WAY

UNEDUCATED
CURSING'S FOR FOOLS
MAKES YOU LOOK STUPID
TO TELL THE TRUTH

IF 4 LETTER WORDS
ARE ALL YOU CAN FIND
YOU'LL COME TO NOTHING
WHEN IT COMES TO LIFE

BECAUSE CURSING IS IGNORANT
CURSING IS VILE
DOES NOBODY NO GOOD
NO WAY AND NO HOW

with a heart so hard
it's hard to tell
when did i become
so cynical

skeptical
in my beliefs
in all they do
in all i see

tossed out the trust
which raised my doubts
pessimistic in
what i have found

wry in my
thoughts i find
i'm cynical
most all the time

cynical
in my daily mocking
unbelieving
in my nightly scoffing

with this heart so hard
it's hard to tell
when i became
so cynical

Do you find you dabble
In everything you do
Often check the water
But only with a toe or two

You might do this, might do that
And other things per say
But never take it to the mat
Before the thought has gone away

You find your mind racked with desire
A burning of the soul
You've got the kindle for the fire
Never adding any coal

No saddle to your dabble
On which to hitch your horse
No trophy on your mantel
Never sticking to the course

You find you might try it once
Maybe even twice
But when it comes down to the crunch
You barely take a bite

Toss in your line time after time
But never catch a thing
You might find it's all a sign
You're only dabbling
Dad
Mike Hauser Jan 17
Dad
I often think about my dad
And just how much I miss him
I miss the walks, the times we'd talk
Where he taught me how to be a man

How many years have passed us by
Since that day he lost his life
Still remember the bout, I let it all out
And allowed myself to break down and cry

Both a father and a friend
Always there with open hands
Never one to judge in his compassion and love
Handy with a hug when I most needed him

I'd be happy to be half the man
As the man that I called Dad
Always did his best, never expected any less
You can rest in that fact about him

Always a stickler for the truth
Whether or not you win or lose
The important thing was integrity
He drilled into me from my early youth

And that is why I often think
Of the man I called Dad that helped raise me
All that I owe to the one who never let go
Even though long ago he left the scene

What can I say, to this day
I still miss my Daddy...
Mike Hauser Nov 2016
My daddy forgot my name
Long before he died
Although he always kept
That twinkle in his eye

They call it dementia
But I myself call it hell
For all that we went through
And just how bad it felt

I watched him walk around
As he picked on walls
Trying his very best
At wiping something off

I still wonder to this day
What it is he thought
In his imaginary space
Or if he thought at all

Life brought to him the battle
And to life he brought the fight
But as any good soldier knows
There will come a time

Where in the heat of war
There is no winning side
It takes away the best in life
Whether you live or you die

I wish he was here to tell
How much I'm missing him
But I missed my daddy
Long before he left
Mike Hauser Apr 2016
The moment you were born is the day you grabbed my heart
Ran away with it and set it free
All of this because of how special you both are
The little girls that call me their daddy

Through the years you've grown into lovely ladies
Providing me with my greatest need
The two little girls that ran away with my heart
Only need to call me their daddy

Never far away from any heartfelt moment
Where their smile won't buckle me at the knees
The only thing in life that I've ever wanted
Is to have my girls call me their daddy

My daddy turned life into living
By raising ten ornery kids
A righteous man, daddy was given
I only hope to live life like he did

He was brought up on old mountain wisdom
That's the best kind of wisdom he said
Don't just hear with your ears but also your eyes
But don't let it all go to your head

Don't trust no one named Uncle Sam
Cussing don't make you a man
If you see your brother in the gutter before you check with another
Be there to lend him a hand

Don't pick a fight if you ain't planing on winning
Don't ever miss church on Sundays
If your caught in a storm and can't make it home
Get down on your knees boy and pray

Make sure you take the advice of your mother
And that you show your sweet sister respect
If you've had your fill of a good home cooked meal
Give a hungry man what is left

My daddy brought us up on mountain wisdom
You can always fall back on when there ain't nothing left
A word to the wise, not just your ears but your eyes
That's what my daddy always said

Well son...

It all began in Fairyland
In the lab of the mystical toads
As trash throughout the land had gotten way out of hand
Along side of the pixie dust roads

The system they had wasn't working
Leaving empty all the garbage cans
And everyone of the Fairies backs were hurting
Bending over picking all of the trash

In an off the wall guess Teddy Toad thought of this
Something the Fairies all liked
A horn on a horse as a matter of course
Then the trash men could go along for the ride

So they took a horse and Duct taped a horn
Cause we all know Duct tape works wonders
But it never fit right in its slip and its slide
In the taping of over and under

Science soon prevailed in the cell from the horn of a cow
Mixing it up with one from a horse
Purely by accident they just happened to chance
Upon what is now the Unicorn

Who's very first job was giving litter a nod
In helping to keep the streets clean
But before too long the Unicorn evolved
In the preforming of different activities

From the up turn of nose in sneezing rainbows
In the prettiest of sunny weather
To giving kids rides as they grew wings to fly
The ones mixed with birds of a feather

Or the burping of clouds when they opened their mouths
That only know how to rain Skittles
That sometimes floods the streets in candy knee deep
Running sugar sweet straight down the middle

So if you're ever confused on how Unicorns were first used
Or had any doubt to how they came about
You can set your mind at ease
You now know they were created because Fairies all hated
Bending over picking trash off the streets

Goodnight son, sweet dreams...
Wrote this for my friend Sally A. Banyan because she likes Unicorns...

How many of us out here
Daily, give ourselves away
Jumping into the thick of it
In all we do and say
Not stopping at, take a breath
For a moment just in case
After all, all of this
On a daily base
That would be me 🫤

I see you out there jogging
Around the block and back
In hopes of keeping healthy
Away from fat attacks

I hear you're eating better
I just hope it's not in vain
When this race is over
And you reach the final end

Have you taken time out
To work on your spiritual heath
Run with the true reason
Of what life's all about

Focus your attention
More on eternity
Make it your ambition
To build up your Godly needs

Then and only then
Will the race you're in be worth it
When in the end you hear God say
Well done good and faithful servant

So while you're staying focused
In your daily run about
Don't forget to be health wise
On both the in as well as out

Ring, Ring
Goes the alarm clock in the morning

Ring, Ring
Goes the phone with all the calls

Ring, Ring
On the happy couples fingers

With the family photos on the walls

Toot, Toot
Goes the train into the station

Toot, Toot
Goes the baby in her hands

Toot, Toot
Blows the quitting whistle

The one that blew when the day began

Knock, Knock
Goes the furnace in the basement

Knock, Knock
Goes the collector on the door

Knock, Knock
On the wood to make it lucky

If there's any out there anymore

why yes her name is daisy mae
more than a tad bit crazy say
wouldn't you be after all

if all you heard was daily horror
the world will end starting tomorrow
sitting waiting for the hammers fall

with talk of tornadoes quickly coming
and earth quakes rumbling by the dozen
as crazy feeds daisy mae daily meals

along with mother's natures natural disasters
there's also man made unnatural clatter
clogging  up daisy mae's grinding wheel

she stays awake silently alarmed
expecting the overtake of daily harm
to spill over into her simple world

so she sits at home all alone
afraid of all that could go wrong
in this drowning flood of life's turmoil

why yes her name is daisy mae
over the edge a tad bit crazy say
don't you think most of us are after all

We are all but dancers
In the rhythm of life
While some seem to dance it perfectly
Some can't get the steps down right

Don't let that stop you from dancing
We each have our own heartbeat
Whether or not you are sure footed
Or if you were born with two left feet

Though we often feel that life can be
A large gymnasium at times
Waiting for someone to dance with us
As we sit on the side

Instead of waiting to be asked to dance
Like so many often do
Where ever it is you are right now
You can dance just for you

Perhaps a ballerina floating gracefully
Across life's massive stage
Giving your own rendition
To the beauty of swan lake

Or dancing to the river
Perhaps something in modern style
Whatever dance it is you deliver
How ever far it is the mile

Dance like there's no tomorrow
To your very own rhythm
For no one else can dance like you
The dance that you've been given

She loves to puff
On clove cigarettes
The flavor she savors
In-between hacks

All the while chewing
Juicy Fruit gum
The one combination
That helps with doldrums

Daringly dangerous
This life on the edge
Chewing Juicy Fruit gum
While smoking Clove cigarettes

Nothing much good
Happens in the dark
No matter where
You find that you are

Feel the evil squirm
As it's on the rise
Covering up those who succumb
With this mass of cloudy lies

Bless my soul ya'll
I'm afraid
We are living
In Darkened Days

People walk around
With blinders on
So they can't see
All that's going wrong

Clocks on the wall
Say the time is nigh
Too dark for most to see
The good in us wave bye, bye

With the devil on the loose
In his fits of rage
We're here living
In Darkened Days

We've played along
As they've played our hand
As good as gone
Strike up the band

Who can we find these days
To apologize
With this long list
Of I, Me, Mine

There soon enough
Want be a soul around to save
With us living
In these Darkened Days

a shadow within the shadows
in front behind in between
eyes they must dart quickly
if the shadow's to be seen

from doorway to darkened doorway
a path less traveled on
if mortal words were used to describe
mere words they would be wrong

is there gain inside the purpose
are thoughts heard in puddles of rain
can shadows reflect a color
unlike the darkened heart of man

if these questions all intrigue you
if there's a scraping two doors down
your soul may know the answer
before your body hits the ground

you may wonder of the nature
of the shadow void of light
strong advice, avoid darkened doorways
that hold shadows in the night

This I'm sure most of you know
Cause it's so hard to hide
That my beautiful Cell Phone and I
Have been dating quite some time

It all started off innocent enough
First acquaintances, then close friends
But quickly enough it turned into love
When I asked her to move in

You always see us out to dinner
Even late-night movie shows
In line together we stand holding hands
Me being too afraid to let her go

She's wonderful at conversation
No matter talk or text
She can get my heart to racing
When I see her light up where she sits

With others, I can't be bothered
Outside of this relationship
She's like a powerful drug that I can't get enough
And really have no desire to quit

She's now asleep soundly beside me
Soon to wake up raring to go
Life's not been the same since I gave my soul away
When I started dating my Cell Phone

I've dated poets most of my life
So I could talk back and forth in rhyme

Sounds a bit  odd to some I know
But it helps with the conversations flow

That is where my mind is at
Poetry in every breath

Speak to me in hyperbole's
Sure fire way to get what you please

Sweet imagery entices me
Otherwise I may not have seen*

It helps to shine a different light

The sun came down
Kissed the Earth good morning
Huged it with a warming
To help it on its way

Gave a gentle nudge
To guide it in it's spinning
Whispered here's to new beginnings
Calling it a day

If light is out shining
chances are that I'm dreaming
Isn't that what dreamers do
during the day
My body is here
but my mind is out wandering
Can't stay in one place
in its runaway

It could be the sun
in its daylight of dawning
Chewing on morsels
that keep my mind entertained
Caves and crevices
in its searching and finding
Where no two places it's been
have been the same

Anywhere that I sit
is not where I'm at
You can tell right away
with eyes set a glaze
Just me and my mind
off most the time
Spending that time
dreaming the day away
Mike Hauser Apr 2020
You might think I'm sitting here
listening to you dear
But my mind right now is miles
away from here

At night I find I sleep
like a baby tight
Then when the morning hits
my mind takes to flight

I can't help but lean
on my daydreams
Taking me to oddities
I ain't never seen

From far off mountain peaks
to a deserted tropical beach
I might even be hanging at
the bar right down the street

There's no telling where my mind
will find to fly
Or where it knows to go
when the time is right

It might be giving a go on a rainbow
into a *** of gold
Or in a room full of manure
looking for the horse I'm told

Where ever my mind decides
at that moment to take me
You can believe I'm far from here
in another daydream

When I'm all by myself, just me
I like to sit back and conjure up dreams
Dreaming of newly-acquired and past memories
And places that I've never been

Dreams filter through as if they too knew
I'd love to sail away on the calm ocean blue
Where my body stays put as my mind continually moves
Sitting here with nothing better to do

Then in a beat with a wink and a series of nods
I might end up on a high mountain top
Or a desert mirage with no time for time clocks
Without once vacating this spot

When I see I have the need to take me a leave
I sit back, relax, and plant several seeds
From dark forests greens to bright city streets
Is where I often dream and earn this my keep

So if you see me with my eyes all a glaze
Please leave me be in my dream state of awake
I'll be back soon before it's too late
To dream yet another day

daydreams
to me it seems
are the only thing
in which i dream
they bubble up
and take their leave
catching thoughtful waves
by any means

they shoot across
the galaxies
from oceans vast
sea to shinning sea
finding pieces
that they need
to continue on
in their day dreams

from future ventures
to playful pasts
don the spacesuit
raise the mast
take the day
from overcast
bright sunshine
where'er i'm at

with daydreams
i tag along
close my eyes
and i am gone
with these dreams
i'm always on
i've found out
there's no plateau

I wonder with daylight savings

Just what it is I save

When half the time it seems that I

Give most of it away

I wonder with daylight savings

What exactly do I save

When half the time it seems that I

Give most of it away
