You never say a word
As I stroke your skin,
Tracing the veins along your arm -
Just watch my fingers
Traveling the road map of the blood
That courses through your body.
I have tried so many times
To find a different path
Discover a detour
But I have only found a common route -
Whatever vein I choose,
It leads to your open hand, outstretched
The only place I feel at home.
You never say a word
As I stroke your skin,
Tracing the veins along your arm -
Just watch my fingers
Traveling the road map of the blood
That courses through your body.
I have tried so many times
To find a different path
Discover a detour
But I have only found a common route -
Whatever vein I choose,
It leads to your open hand, outstretched
The only place I feel at home.
It’s cold
I watch hundreds of raindrops
Falling into puddles
What’s playing through my ear buds
And what’s playing through my mind
Come together so delicately
Like the way your fingers connect with mine
Follow me to the places unknown
Keep your hand locked in mine
I promise I won’t let you go
Don’t be afraid to fall like the rain
Because we fall together
The wind took us by surprise
Holding on tight
We have no choice
We fall
The ground slams into us
Causing our hold to stretch
I’m not flexible
I’m known to split
But we don’t let go
We once fit together like Ying and Yang
We were as strong as the raging sea
But look beyond what you feel
And stare at what you see
We freeze
Stretched out and feeling astray
You begin to evaporate
There’s nothing I can do
I’m frozen
A crack forms
Our hold is broke
You fade away before I can say

Don’t be afraid
We’ll fall together again,

Someday
-
they say if a tree falls in the woods
and no one's around to hear it,
it creates a silence
in vibration,
without even
deaf ears upon which to crash.
-
and they say if a tree dies in the woods,
the only formalities it receives
are a coffin of moss and lichen,
a bouquet of fungi,
and a burial in overgrowth.
-
and i say, if a man dies in the woods
at the trunk of a silently falling tree,
then i am that man,
and the funeral would be attended by none,
and i would garner little more sympathy
than the corpse of the last man before me.
-
and finally, i say too that
this poem is inaptly named,
for i have no victim
to suffer
from
my
loss.
-
The noise goes out.
And the silence creeps in.
One more night with the realization
That I am still alone.
Forever?
Who’s to say?
For now.
That’s for sure.
The friends all leave.
But your memories stay.
So vivid they’re haunting.
The nights in the rain.
The days spent in bed.
Without you here I’m a ghost of our past.
When did you go?
Why did you go?
Some questions with no answers.
Was it because you needed to?
Or was it because you needed an escape from me?
These questions pour in.
And make the silence so loud.
I’m done searching for answers in my nightmares.
It’s your turn for that now.
Your love is like a foggy mist
That fades into the night
Or maybe the darkness that runs away
When it sees the morning light

It's somewhere in the middle
Hidden, between good and bad
I just couldn't tell the difference
For it was all I ever had

You didn't know commitment
It was a word you never used
When I asked for reassurance
You just silently refused

When I told you that I love you
You could only say, "Me too"
When I told you of my problems
You'd say, "Whatever you wanna do"

I've finally learned my lesson
Though this decision I've made is tough
If this is truly what you call love
It's just simply not enough
There are certain moments in our lives that change us
Small periods of time that define us
Objects remind us
It's hard to forget what once meant the world to you
things that made you
the things that break you
The memories that will be with you forever
The nights you wished lasted forever
Young forever
Forever, never
Never, forget
Forget, what life meant
Thinking back to all the nights
Thinking to all the nights
The nights you'll want to flight
