When I first came here, many years ago.
The words flowed freely, my feelings you would know.
I made many friends, and I felt like I was home.
But then there was some drama, and I began to roam.

Not long after that, my dear friend Patty died.
He was a poet here, and I ran away to hide.
So now its been some time, and I have again returned.
And in my travels since, I'll tell you what I've learned.

As long as I sit behind this computer, and type on these black keys.
I'm missing all that does exist, and I'm wondering who I should please.
In one hand I have an online life, with "friends" I do not know.
And in the other hand, I have myself, and the life I wish would flow.

I left the computer to live my life, I hope you understand.
And I found some happiness, and hope, that was not planned.
Get away from this world my friends, it feeds the dark inside.
Find yourself, and love yourself, so you never need to hide.

To all the people who
leave their homeland
to escape from their lives
unaware that they
won’t make it alive
on the other side,
oblivious to the horrific
idea that they will
scream and cry
while watching their
babies drown and die:
may the waves carry you
in a better world
than the one in which
we are living now.

I deprive my heart
of blood for I write
these verses with it
in the hope it would
merge with yours
the moment you see
my heart is meaningless
if you spurn my love.

Give the gates
of your heart
permission to
be wide open
but make sure
not to let winter
settle in your
feeble bones.

The ache of a heart
who cannot rest
for it has been apart
from you who were my best,
the best part
of all art.

Odorless ink turned
into sweet fragrance
through this poem
for it smells of you.

How do you walk
through a mind
filled with items
without fear of
having to pay
for the damage
if anything shatters?
The angels that you can and cannot see
float in and out of life so gracefully;
enfold in winged embraces one by one,
celestial comforters when day is done.
Some angels take the shapes of passers-by
so you might see the Spirit in their eyes.
A smile that lifts the day from the mundane;
a kind hand up, a loving act conveyed.
The unseen angels hover in the realm
where power manifested overwhelms
our common senses. There behind the scenes
they battle fears and reinforce our dreams.
Take counsel from a humbled man, once proud;
they only enter lives when they're allowed.
