The way you left made me want
to wish upon a couple of stars
For every night
inside me was a war

It was the most piercing silence
I have ever heard
And it made me want to
hide from the world

I wish I could pick a star for you
So I wouldn't have to look up for a wish to come true

I wish I could hand a star to you
So you can see I can not only give
you a heavenly body
But also every speck in the
galaxy

I wish you could see
the soul within me
So you could see it was only yours
it wants to be with

I wish my arms were as long as
my agony
So I could wrap it around your entirety
Feel every warmth in your body
Breathing and absorbing the way it
fits me

I wish you could see beneath
my breaking bones
That even though I'm weak and sore
I would still without a
second thought
Carry you home

I still remember that day,
that one day we met,
it keeps on haunting me,
till this day.

I still remember that day,
when your eyes pierce into mine,
deep warm sensation embrace me,
I felt welcomed.

I still remember that day,
when I looked into your eyes,
I found home,
I found acceptance.

But until this day,
you're just a memory,
a day to remember,
an ephemeral hot chocolate.
To the person who I thought I have a crush on.

For long, my house has been lying deserted
My gate has not been opened wide to let in anyone
No guest has so far come to visit me
Tired of distant wanderings
I have come here to listen to the beat of silence
Occasionally broken by the sound
Of birds' laughing wings overhead
Here I have brooding shadows for company
Hermit like I wrap myself in my solitude

Now abruptly when you announce your arrival
I feel excited and equally perplexed
What shall I serve you? I am at a loss
My hearth has not been lighted for long
And my kitchen pots remain empty
I know I should serve you
Something chilled or warm
In my menu, I have a simple surprise
But not of the edible kind
Nor delectable to your palate
But as I have known you since long
I hope it will appease you

In poetry’s platter
I shall serve my thoughts warm,
Garnered in the lonely hours
Of my solitude!

The only dish I have!

Just Me R
A smile can hide a million woes
The ones that nobody needs to know
The inner turmoil of your soul
Each day you hide the tears that flow

A smile can hide a million broken dreams
That keeps you awake when you should be asleep
When plans you made are just distant memories
When once the world was at your feet

But that one smile that finally breaks through
The one that sparkles like a precious jewel
The inner light comes through innocent and pure
That smile is your smile, the one that is true.
In the night I go to places
my day self fears to tread,
Where secret aches and longings claim
their space inside my head.

Too easily I lose the fight
Give up my self control,
Yield reason, faith and innocence
to yearnings of my soul.

In the night I steal past conscience
to find my terror tree,
Pick a poisonous fruit that tastes
like life and death to me.

My closed eyes are forced to take in
all that I fear to see,
I’m drowning, bleeding, burning the
frail bones of inner me.

The spell breaks when I awaken
fractured or still the same,
My mind revealing or hiding
what I can’t bear to name.

I sang the song of a broken heart
It deafened the darkened sky
And though it pulled my soul apart
Nobody could hear my cry

Birds are singing a cappella
a lullaby
for your wilting light.
Drowsy flowers drooping
to doze
safely in petal folds.
Yawning colours are waning soft
in twlight's faded hue.
Night will come soon
to watch over you.
Sleep well my dear day.

The bus threw up it's passangers
street's bustle flushed them away.
He sidestepped a muttering ******
who'd seen better days.
Umbrellas popped open
and hoods pulled up
against the falling rain,
but his thoughts were a staccato of her.

The lure of coffee and pastries
from a deli warmly beckoned all to
stay,
but the hustle of pedestrians
carried him south on his way
towards officeblocks looming ominously
flanking the warf along the edge of the quay,
but his thoughts were of a staccato of she.
She's such a sweet chameleon
of shifting shades and dreams,
her kaleidoscope of colours
is never what it seems.

If you force her into focus
she'll only twist and fade,
until you're alone, longing for
the vivid love she made.
