She spreads her yellow wings
To sun and sky an offering
Gold nectar dew she brings
To Ruby-throat a'humming
Sweet song of waning spring
And lily in the morning.

Within myself
I search a person
yet unknown to me

Three feathers in her hat,
Highbrow society
Her nose held high
Her cheeks blushed pink.
Three feathers in her hat
Heels clicking loudly
Bags tumble in her hands
As she makes her way out.

One feather out,
Picked up by the wind,
Landed in a trash bin
Out in the city dump.
So much for all the luxury
That it couldn't have a go at.

Two feathers in her hat
Highbrow society
Her hair tucked neatly
With bob pins and bands.
Two feathers in her hat,
Won't let her hair out free
At home she dwells
Under her father's authority.

Second feather flies off in the air
Out beyond the harbor
And lands gently on a dock.
Unlike herself, this one found a way
To sail away in to the seas.

One feather in her hat
Looking miserably lonely
All that gold ain't glitter
Her mom never told.
One feather in her hat
Relentlessly waiting to go
That one feather in her hat
Made all the fashion statement
There was to know.

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Chances are, its going to burn you bad.

Staring at the ceiling, painting dollars in your head
Can you move your limbs and actually make it happen before you're dead?

Turning tables, now the blame's on you
A deal with the devil, now your head is the price.

Call your gods, let them intercede for you
I like company, its pretty much a game for two

Dust your jacket, put on your finest piece of cloth.
Dont want to look shabby when you're invited for a dinner with that dude.

Deal the cards, let the money roll in,
You were a dead man, even before you were born.

Rattle your chains, let the noise be heard
This game is mine, I tell you all the rules.
This was so random

Twisted, unsymmetrical
Curled into a ball,
Tainted, bloated
In the corner of a room.

Dust settles
Covers her facade
As she sleeps,
A dreamless array.

Beneath the layers
Her mind, portrays
She relapses into a world,
Surreal.

Mindless babble
Incomprehensible sorrow
She sleeps on,
Escaping the shadow .

Left in a corner
For years stuck in this state.
Her bones hollow,
Twisted out of shape.

She cried alone,
Now she cries no more
Her voice has fallen,
Fallen on them, deaf ears.

What is it that you fear the most?
The silence that reigns in the hour of darkness
Or the voices that control every thought that is doomed to surface?

What is it that aches your soul the most?
Rejection by love and her charming disregard
Or the dire fate of not being what you are?

What is it that keeps you silenced in a far off world?
Reality that makes little sense in every event of plight
Or your longing to stretch out your wings and fly into the night?

What is it that you miss the most?
A shoulder to cry on when the going gets tough
Or a place to call home when you're faith is broken and crushed?

What is your story in this world, young man?
Where do you come from and to where you go?
Will you let your hands fall to the side and perish under your perils?
Will you not fight till the very last breath that holds you, repose?
Hold up your shield, let the arrows rain.
Hold up your sword, let evil moan.
Let the shadows fall, let the sun be erased.
Let death march to your very door.
But will you fall to your knees and forget to fight,
Fight for what you believe and what your heart holds high?
Hold your head high, let your minds not fall.
Your steps not falter, this life which you chose.
March till the end, march for your kin,
March for your faith, that lies within.
This write can be misleading. Though I assure you, that when I wrote this I didn't mean to write one about wars raged against people or countries. (though I must admit this was written after watching the movie 300 ). This is based on wars we fight in our daily life. The things we face day to day, that crumbles our faith and our hopes. This is a war song for those who think it's better to not fight and give up.
